I have been working at Ewing full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Nice coworkers and easy work

    Cons

Unless you are a personal friend of the CEO and he personally likes you - you will not go anywhere at the company. He only promotes males that are his friends regardless if they are qualified.

    Advice to Management

    Change the culture in Phoenix.

I worked at Ewing full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Overall good culture in the company. They have a clear objective in mind.

    Cons

Some department directors need to be changed. They are dragging others down with them.

    Advice to Management

Make some corporate department director changes. There are people that have worked there a very long time that deserve to have the director positions, instead of hiring directors that shouldn't have the position in the first place.

I have been working at Ewing full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great Environment to be in, I love our customers and showing up to work every day.

    Cons

The system in place to earn a raise is not the best, I work hard for my customers and take care of them like they are family, even working after hours to make sure they have what they need. I make just over minimum age and I can barely pay my bills, and in a matter of two years ill be making not enough to to even keep up with inflation which is kind of a drag I'm constantly working through my SP tests to make more but,...

    Advice to Management

Make sure to find the employees like myself, and make sure they are supported properly and make sure they get paid well to keep them with the company, instead of having to get new faces in the branches, customers like to be certain that the employees will take care of them.

I have been working at Ewing

    Pros

Lots of overtime during the Spring and Summer. Clean work environment. It's not hard work and I've had worse jobs.

    Cons

Low pay. Insurance is appalling. Most insurance these days is bad but for the size of the company it's really not good. Some branch managers rock while others don't. Branch manager sets the tone of branch. Regional manager depends on who you have. Some are thought of very highly while others make you wonder who they fooled to get hired. Some people at Corporate are extremely nice while others aren't. Dealing with a few...

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't care what I think. I'm a low paid cog who can be easily replaced. I have worked at my branch for 2 + years while I get my side business rolling. It's not a horrible place to work but truthly the most anyone will ever be is branch manager and corporate is where Ewing employees go to burn out. From the grief they throw at my manager who is a great person I would never want the job. I really wish I could...

I have been working at Ewing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training, opportunity for growth, build a career, family owned, community employee events great benefits, easy work life balance

    Cons

Slower paced in terms of career growth. Very steady, but you have to pay your dues. They understaff each warehouse, so you are always in a little over your head.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people per branch, better communication between branches

I have been working at Ewing full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great employees in the AZ area, streamlined stock system, corporate employees (purchasing, account managers etc) offer their wealth of information at a moment's notice.

    Cons

Very low pay starting off. This is not a job where you can start off making money. Get your financials in order or go to a site one for better starting pay.

    Advice to Management

If you want your employees to take care of you, increase their pay. You wonder why you keep losing your 2-6 year employees , you don't show them you care because you do NOT pay what they are worth. What is absurd is you have atleast 4 current great service professionals who could take over one of your branches which is under a possible manager shift but instead your regional has hired a man who hasn't been with the...
