Cool People. Room to Advance
Management and HR are constantly shuffled around properties. Makes a very frustrating environment.

Union job, health benefits, paid vacation
Constantly understaffed, management never lasts so the rules always change

Appreciated by current management, and decades long coworkers are like family. MGM was a community leader in it's funding of continued health benefits for it's union employees during Covid-19 layoffs.
MGM corporate, centralized Human Resources. EVERYTHING is online, but with multiple apps and no user training, it's like dealing with multi-Departmental government red tape for the occasional day off or name tag replacement. A nightmare for ADA and ESL users. Outsourced employee scheduling company doesn't even try to adhere to contract law regarding CBA witch they clearly have never bothered to read.

After getting in the door, you begin to notice Excaliburs the “red head stepchild” of MGM thought. A last thought. Despite that employees have made the best of it and are tight knit. Many in my department are still there from day 1 in 1990. Management turnover is fairly high, but all seem to at least attempt to hear out their team and arent the type to stress out employees or micro manage if you come in and do your job.
Since Covid-19 hours have been cut, and occasionaly corporate comes up with rules to crack down on employees

I’ve worked and opened some of the bigger properties and Excalibur might not make as much but the ppl are excellent to work with and make it a much more relaxed environment than a lot of properties
Again you don’t make as much

free meals, steady schedule if you're high enough on the seniority list.
Not sure about now, but back then, u have to do 2 jobs, usher inside the showrooms and at the ticket counter if you're an on call just to get hours.

You get to meet lots of interesting people.
Management has 0% care about anything preventative. Everything we do is a response to an emergency anymore. Nothing is ever PMed or checked. Just repaired or replaced when it finally breaks.1
