Pros
HR department is committed to learn and understand all of the employees. They are very helpful and caring in their own way. Upper management is wonderful and all of the employees in the office are also very friendly. It a great place to learn new techniques and gain much knowledge about the company and its concept. The work environment is also easy to adapt to.

Pros
Mid-sized consulting firm. Lots of visibility and interaction with managers and executive team. Overall, a great place to work.
Cons
No 401k match is the only major con in my eyes.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Excelacom full-time for more than a year
Pros
Real small company feel, everyone knows everyone, people are very friendly, most of the customers have been around for a while so they know management, which is good. Great place to network since you meet so many people from different companies.
Cons
Work life balance isn't the best. It 's a consulting group, so long/odd hours are to be expected, but the company directive doesn't offer comp time, is stingy with work from home situations makes maternity leave difficult. If you're lucky and you get a good manager and a good account, that's great. But there's only so many of them. And a lot of the positions are more staff aug than they are consulting, which makes job descriptions a misleading. And zero transparency from management, unless you're in the "boys club" and a manager gets chatty.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookI have been working at Excelacom full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Great place to launch a career. Exceptional integrity - no funny stuff going on. Performance based career trajectory - you can double your starting salary within just a few years.
Cons
Typical small company cons - not a lot of places to move to. You can sometimes get stuck on a project that is not interesting. Company still trying to position itself for the future.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Excelacom full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
For a new college grad, this is a great place to start since you get to go right into the fire almost on day 1. You can also get promotions and salary increases very fast depending on how quickly you get going. The individuals and managers you work with are generally good people. The experience that you get at the entry level is probably much better than at a large company. When you get into a high visibility project, life is really exciting.
Cons
For those seeking clear career structure, this is not the place for you. You don't get mentoring and sometimes it takes a long time for anyone to tell you what the heck they hired you for or what they expect from you. Due to the small nature of the company, you might get stuck in an uninteresting project and get bored to death. The relationship to the offshore component of the company needs a lot of work. It's usually an embarassing mess. Although, that's probably more of an industry problem and probably not specific to Excelacom.
