I have been working at Excelacom full-time

    Pros

Mid-sized consulting firm. Lots of visibility and interaction with managers and executive team. Overall, a great place to work.

    Cons

No 401k match is the only major con in my eyes.

I worked at Excelacom full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Worked with some very talented technical engineers

    Cons

Misleading communication, leadership has no idea on how to engage their employees. Terrible sales and marketing. Interview for one project and then management moves you to another project not related to interview. Benefits are horrible, no 401k,

    January 30, 2020HR Manager

Thank you for your review. We are always striving to improve communication firm-wide and this starts with our open door policy that we encourage our team members to take advantage of. In addition, we have continued to improve our communication across the company, adding monthly all-hands meetings, weekly or biweekly account-wide team meetings, a new intranet and increased communications and touch points from our HR & Marketing teams. As is the nature of consulting, project changes do happen and our managers try to place people in the best available role. We are proud of our Marketing team and have successfully launched several new campaigns in the second half of 2019 and we have an exciting 2020 road map. We are always open to ways we can continue to improve and hope our team members can share their feedback with us directly.

We hope that our employees feel comfortable bringing up issues and concerns with their managers and our leadership team. From the start, Excelacom has reinvested in the company and followed an evolving strategic plan, including focusing on R&D to allow us to grow both our consulting and product business. We appreciate your feedback.

I worked at Excelacom full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Health Benefits are average

    Cons

    - High Turnover except Upper Management - Zero Accountability - Company's Product does not meed Customer's need, focus needs to be done with the Customer to actually determine need, instead of shoving inept Product in Customer's faces - Everyone works for their own self-interest instead of for the companies best interest - No 401K match - Management considers their employees as resources, interchangeable and replaceable based on personal preference - Management hold grudges against their resources

    January 30, 2020HR Manager

It is our hope that our employees have an open dialogue with their managers to bring up issues or concerns when they happen, to allow us to take appropriate actions. Our team consistently strives to make sure our employees feel valued. We pride ourselves on working closely with our benefits broker to benchmark our benefit offerings. Thank you for your feedback.

I worked at Excelacom full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Salary is good - Office is spacious

    Cons

    - Low employee engagement/Company culture: if you are looking for a place where you clock in and out every day, then this may be the job for you. No one interacts with each other, no ERGs - most days, you can hear a pen drop. - Lack of new hire training: I was hired as an entry-level associate and learned on the fly for 2 months before getting an introduction to the project I was working on after being promised multiple times I would be trained. My manager would grow annoyed when I didn't understand how things in the project were related because there was no one to teach me. I spoke with multiple new hires in multiple departments and they did not receive training as well. - No room for growth/little exposure: the teams are very small and much of the software that is used at this company is out of date. Many of the skills you will learn will only be useful at this company and for that specific project. Many clients are not renewing agreements with this company due to the disorganization of Excelacom. - No 401K match

I worked at Excelacom full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - The people were great, and admittedly the only reason I stayed as long as I did. - The pay was good for undergrad right out of college. - Health, vision, and dental benefits

    Cons

    - Many employees are underpaid considering the industry/other available opportunities - There is practically no communication from upper management (regarding people leaving company, new hires, performance reviews, general company updates, etc.) - New hire training is lacking - Advancement training for established employees is the individuals responsibility - SORELY struggling to secure client opportunities - Bonus/raises seem to be based on company performance, not individuals - "Trial by fire" learning/project approach - No 401k match

I have been working at Excelacom full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They pay well; mainly because there is no compensation plan, career path or reasonable pay scale in place. Health Insurance options are decent, but expensive.

    Cons

Employees are undervalued and overworked. There is no appreciation from management, company culture is a joke and employee morale is extremely low. The most unorganized consulting company ive worked for. No additional benefit perks outside of typical health insurance and NO 401K MATCH.

    I worked at Excelacom full-time

    Pros

You'll get paid to do nothing but show up for work.

    Cons

No 401k match, no opportunities for advancement and no incoming work. All of the managers are former colleagues of the CEO from before he started the company, meaning they don't care about the company's success or their direct reports. I didn't work here long but I had no legitimate work to do while I was there. If other employees are underperforming, you'll likely be asked to help them complete their project and work longer hours and weekends with no incentive but to keep your job. Almost all of the employees were hired fresh out of college, going to show you that no one sticks around for longer than a year. I felt like every week someone else was resigning, and apparently that's still going on months after I left.

I have been working at Excelacom full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lower level employees are very forthcoming and transparent in the fact that they know this company is a sinking ship.

    Cons

No 401K match. Huge disparities in compensation. Horrific Paid Time off policy. Excelacom's product is so horrendous to a point where people around the office joke about it. Upper level mgmt is stubborn and is petrified of change. Excelacom is BLEEDING MONEY. Went from 30 college hires to ZERO this year. Just laid off 5 employees...the first time in the companies history. Not to mention that the HR Director just resigned. Employees are leaving left and right. The lack of retention is so troubling that one employee went as far as keeping a list of people that resigned, as there are so many he couldn't keep track.
