    Pros

If you have integrity, own up to your mistakes, and show up to work, you will always have a job. Depending on what branch you work at, you will have lots of down time. This bank is pretty slow, not more than a few customers in the branch at a time usually. The people who work here are pretty loyal and generally nice to work with.

    Cons

You will be stuck in that position you are hired at it, if you do not aggressively ask for new challenges and opportunities. The managers do not have a clue how to coach or develop employees. The career development program here is extremely weak and there is no consistency on how to get promoted to a Senior Customer Service Representative. The main issue at Exchange Bank is there is a huge lack of consistency between departments, even between department employees, and between branches. If you ask different people the same question, you will get a difference answer.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who know how to manage others or teach them how to. And offer more incentives for people to stay with the company, change the way people can be promoted and actually make it worth while to get promoted by paying market rate for that position rather than just a 3% boost in pay.

I worked at Exchange Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The quality of the people I worked with was phenomenal, and made a very stressful job tolerable. There was an effort made to have a good culture, and I appreciated the yearly bonus (if our profits were on target,) as well as the Holiday Breakfast every December. The benefits package was decent, if a little pricey.

    Cons

After nearly a decade- the last four years of which I was told to "hold on, we don't want to lose you, we're looking for the right opportunity to advance you into" I decided to leave. There are very few pathways to move forward in the company.
The pay was lower than industry standards, especially for those employees who had been there for a long period. New employees were actually being hired at higher rates than old employees were currently making, which made for a lot of tension. This also sent the message that knowledge and experience at the company were not valued. Also, unlike other banks that pay out for most new referred business an employee solicits, Exchange Bank offered additional pay on only a few select products. The rest of the required referrals were considered part of your job, and you could get written up and even terminated if you consistently did not meet your quota.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to advance your talented employees, or watch them leave. Be more aware of industry standards in regards to pay, especially for customer service personnel.

I have been working at Exchange Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People you work with on a daily basis and the Doyle Legacy.Location of the branches you can work.

    Cons

Upper management, as evidenced by their recent losses. Their ineptness in management of employees and polices toward women. ( you have to be good looking to get ahead)

    Advice to Management

If you tell your employees you make the bank the "Best" pay them the Best!!
With the recent departure the bank should return to its former greatness.

I worked at Exchange Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None for lower management level personnel.

    Cons

When upper management can never be accountable for bad decisions,(not even to minor stock holders) there is something ethically wrong with the leadership.

    Advice to Management

Take responsibility, and stop looking for fall guys.
(Hard to do when you know you can never be fired)

    Pros

Very nice place to work. Management is very helpul and easy to approach. Even though Exchange bank is goint through a diffcult time right now it still works with the community and gives back to the community. Exchange Bank is a very good place to work and balance your time with family and work.. You work 40 hours a week sometimes more but only if you choose to work more otherwise you are not expected to work more than that..

    Cons

Itis not very easy to move up the ladder, but if you try hard you might go up some places.

    Advice to Management

Semior management is doing a good job right now.
