I have been working at Exclusive Resorts LLC full-time

    Pros

Great people who support and build off each other - you actually want to be friends with your coworkers. An executive team that genuinely wants this to be a great place for members and employees. If you can make use of the restricted travel benefits, those are great too.

    Cons

The travel industry can be exhausting and demoralizing. Management is doing a lot to create a sense of "why" but at the end of the day it's hard to get excited about a product that is designed exclusively for the obscenely wealthy and isn't really really doing anything to make the world better. Also, your job basically exists because the product is so complicated that you need a month of training in order to even begin to understand it.

    Advice to Management

Keep fighting the good fight! You've created a great company culture but helping rich people figure out their 1% problems is only going to be compelling for some people for so long.

    Pros

Start up atmosphere that allows you the opportunity to create a career path within this growing company and industry. Good comp and solid health benefits, gym and eco pass included, along with a generous vacation policy, discounted portfolio usage, and vested interest in the company from the first day. Casual dress, and downtown Boulder location are a plus. Most of all the people are amazing here.

    Cons

None that I can see, as an employee you have the chance to work hard and prove your worth in this ambitious company.

    Advice to Management

Continue what you are doing, and make sure to recognize good work when it is warranted in the office and in the field.

    Pros

An OK place to work if you don't plan to advance in your career and refrain from giving management your honest opinion when asked.

    Cons

Stressful work environment due to ever increasing member disappointment over club's ever changing policies and increasing dues and decreasing availability to use their membership

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent, stop going forward with unvested promotions, and listen to your non-management employees' feedback. Replace ineffective managers.

    Pros

Great benefits and people. Located in the heart of downtown there is always something fun going on.

    Cons

No opportunities for advancement or professional development. Executive team is very elitist and it's all about the good 'ole boys.

    Advice to Management

Get a new CFO based in Denver that actually works every day.

    Pros

Young firm with a clear leadership position in a new industry.

    Cons

The firm has a tendancy to over-react to the market and is at times seemed unsure about its direction. Some of the middle management is very young and the firm has struggled with the transition from a high growth firm to a more established brand. Sales goal proved to be too aggressive and now that the market has shifted the firm has laid off staff.

    Advice to Management

Be realistic about how you communicate sales projections to the Board.
