    Pros

Lots of challenging, yet fulfilling work being given to the interns. The company really seems to value getting new blood into their power plants.

    Cons

Workload may become overbearing at times and corporate seems very separated from the sites.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Exelon Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, retirement plan, health insurance.

    Cons

After the acquisition of BG&E, the sales staff was treated poorly. Most of the sales people in Chicago were forced to leave, as well as many sales people in the Kennett Square office. Employees were not treated with respect.
Exelon Energy has a mafia mentality, if you're part of it, you're moving up; if you're not, developmental opportunities are very limited.

I worked at Exelon Energy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

great benefits and pay. job flexibility

    Cons

no mental stimulation. follow the orders, no innovation. innovation is crushed, logic and reasoning are not welcome. too many people on top have too many friends who are making too many $$ outsourcing work to contractors. great for people who just sit and watch as spectators. you will be ignored for promotions and friends of the superiors will be promoted (I am sure this happens everywhere but a little too blatant at Exelon) .

    Advice to Management

Clearly what they are doing is working for them so they must be doing something right. Gotto see how long this mismanagement works

I worked at Exelon Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and health benefits with paid time for doctors appointments

    Cons

Promotions and transfers based on seniority not the right person for the job- union contracts not clear with merger not enough in place to balance work stress and family life with such a stressful job overtime only available in Customer Care regularly

    Advice to Management

Out with the old in with the new. Let in the fresh air with fresh ideas; limit promotions of buddies and office politics and when you have an ethics committee make it a separate entity than HR let it be an unbiased dpt.

    Pros

Good core of office personnel and internal team.

    Cons

Continued reducing workforce to make numbers in areas that were profitable. Froze and elimated pensions on selected groups, although not all... No structure in place to retain top-performers.

    Advice to Management

Avoid bumping CEOs salary up $4M same year working bee's took a salary haircut.
