I have been working at Exelon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exelon is a passionate company that truly cares about the service we provide to our customers. The company is looking for ways to innovate technology internally for our employees and externally for our customers. In addition Exelon's compensation and benefits packages are some of the best in the industry. There is a ton of opportunity for internal growth and movement into new fields and different operating companies.

    Cons

Hours can be demanding when project work needs to be completed, but that should be expected. It can take sometime to get contracts, projects work, and decisions made, but again in such a large organization in the nuclear space it is important to have the right checks and balances in place that create this.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on our culture and employees. It is important to not only evolve as a company for our external customers, but also for our employees. It has been great to see offices being more progressive and flexible; even if it is the small things like allowing jeans in the office or working remote when there are no in person meetings that day.

I have been working at Exelon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good base salary. Flexible working arrangement (compressed work week, occasional work from home, ect.). Excellent bonus. 401k plus a pension, decent insurance

    Cons

Wish we had more vacation, Red tape doesn't begin to describe it

    Advice to Management

Increase vacation, we're focused on cutting headcount to hit cost requirements. Maybe you should also focus on eliminating unnecessary work too? Currently every department is trying to shed their work off on others as fast as possible, and that's not sustainable.

    I worked at Exelon full-time

    Pros

There is a variety of work that is engaging and most areas tend to be innovative and forward leaning towards new technology and process.

    Cons

There is a lack of diversity at all levels of the organization with very few minorities in their workforce and in leadership.

    Advice to Management

Follow up on the commitment to diversity by actually hiring minorities and developing minority and female workforce.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Exelon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exelon is the leader in the nuclear industry, so if nuclear power generation strikes your fancy they are your best bet, lots of OJT and TPE.

    Cons

Corporate structure is just god awful, everything in this company comes from a procedure. Absolutely no room for creative thinking, you do what your told period.

    Advice to Management

Learn to help management peoples work life balances, forcing people to work 70+ hours a week with no extra pay (salary only) is how you stress people out and ultimately shorten their life span. That is why I quit, I work to live not live to work.

    Pros

    Cons

As a lineman in the overhead (or crew leader, OES, troubleman) you don't really have any non work hours. They pay you while your there and discipline you if you don't come in on you days off weekends and even vacation. The place sucked

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Exelon full-time

    Pros

Pros would be salary, benefits, and a reliable place of employment. The company is very established and provides many great benefits.

    Cons

Since the company revolves around nuclear, it is very safety conscious and is many basic tasks are procedural driven and mundane.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to try as best as you can to adapt to multiple personalities and to provide better overall communication on a daily basis.
