I worked at Exertis full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Growing company in terms of acquisitions which should lead to opportunity. Chance to learn some useful information and skills. Ability to network with vendors that work with Exertis which could help get you opportunities with them and move on.

    Cons

Outside of hardware they are not known as they are a commercial company operating in technology rather than a technology company themselves. If you stay too long then your attractiveness to other employers such as vendors drastically diminishes. The mid management layer is outdated in terms of approach creating negative feelings and are known to proactively stop development. Witnessed behavior should not be allowed... but is overlooked by senior management and HR as it's the easier option for them.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Exertis full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Exertis has grown almost unrecognizably in the time I have worked here. And that's a good thing. New premises, new facilities, new systems, new partnerships, new customers. If you've not heard of Exertis, think "big" but not in the sense of a overblown corporate. Demonstrated year-on-year growth every year - and backed by a FTSE 100 parent company - DCC.

    Cons

Every day brings it's challenges - you'll certainly be stretched.

    I worked at Exertis

    Pros

You get paid (not a lot mind)

    Cons

Stricter than school Zero flexibility Long hours Awful management Car park full by 8.15

    Advice to Management

Listen to what staff are telling you, if there is a consistent complaint - do something about it! If you were flexible with staff you wouldn't find at 6pm everyone queueing to get out the building!
