I have been working at Exotic Metals Forming Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The starting pay is low, usually less then $15 for manufacturing workers, but with profit-sharing and if you don't mind overtime you can make almost $40k a year just off the street with no factory or aerospace experience. After five years or more year and cross-training in different department you can make up to $60,000 with profit sharing and overtime. Experienced welders and machinist make the most. If you want to show up , work hard, and get training you can make a decent life for yourself there. Also great people to work with.

    Cons

Low starting pay is a drag and takes a lot of work to move up. Lots of anti-union stickers even though it's been years since there was a union drive. Like we get it, you don't like unions, we don't need the constant reminder.

    Advice to Management

Competitive initial pay would do a lot to attack people with relevant experience.

I have been working at Exotic Metals Forming Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people and work environment. Will train and cross train, so it is a good opportunity if you wish to learn new skills.

    Cons

Low pay, and pay is not even linked to performance, but how long you have been there. Will only hold opportunity if cross training out to you until certain employment time has been reached.

    Advice to Management

Make pay more competitive, and employee performance based. Not seniority.

I worked at Exotic Metals Forming Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Older employees have a ton of good knowledge and are willing to share to anyone that shows desire to learn.

    Cons

Really low pay to industry standard. It's a great company to work for if you have no experience in aerospace and want to learn. Once you learn a skilled trait apply to any other aerospace company to get an instant 30-50% increase in pay. They dangle a caret infront of you for as long as your willing to chase it. They say you are doing a great job but then give you a 20 cent raise. No offense keep your 20 cents. This place makes you feel like your on a sleazeball shady car dealership. Head of the sleaziness is the chief of engineering. Don Lindsey would be disappointed in what his company has become.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people that actually make exotic world class.

    Pros

They hire for culture, which means great people who enjoy working together to improve processes is the norm. They also like to hire from within, so plenty of opportunity to advance in a growing company.

    Cons

There are folks who may have a good personality, but are incompetent at their job. Unfortunately attendance and personality are all that's needed to stay employed here, which means those that work hard and do well at their job are rewarded the same as someone who just doesn't get it, but shows up on time.

    Advice to Management

Keep the emphasis on culture, but also increase focus on whether someone is actually good at their job, not just attendance and personality.

I have been working at Exotic Metals Forming Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For salary employees, it's a refreshing change to find a job where you're not expected to work 60 hours every week. Most salary employees work 40-45 hour weeks. Co-workers are very good as well, most are hard working and care about doing a good job. Profit sharing every 6 months can be nice, but fluctuates significantly. Company is rapidly growing, so unless you're incompetent you'll have good job security.

    Cons

Mixed leadership, generally low pay for industry/area, mediocre payed leave, if you're not working on something new there'll be little/no support

As a whole the company is running forward too fast to look behind and see or address what's being missed, and its started to catch up with them.

    Advice to Management

Better training for supervisors/management, more support for sustaining/improving existing work

    Pros

Hit the ground running approach makes the internship interesting. Everyday there is something to learn. Engineering interns work both designing and with the manufacturing team.

    Cons

Low wages for interns compared to similar companies. A little more guidance from would be helpful.
