    Pros

I never saw any one get laid off.

    Cons

Old school corporate culture. Cheap coffee, no snacks, collared shirt and tie required. All management that I came in contact with were people pleasers which seemed to create a horrible environment their subordinates. If you want to confirm this as the truth, just talk to a recruiter.

I have been working at Expeditors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A constant paycheck and a job

    Cons

    1. A lot of nepotism within the branch. Way to many family members of leads, managers, supervisors, district managers etc, working at the company. If you don't know somebody chances are you will not go far. Doesn't take a dummy see how management favors their family or extended family with a little research any one can find out very quickly how true this is.
    2. To many people in position of power/Management due to the fact of who there mom, dad, uncle or father in law is etc.
    3. Creepy old men. Many of the older men who have been with the company 15+ years, are very creepy flirting and making many of the women uncomfortable. especially the younger women, quite disgusting, you can see the discomfort on the women's faces.
    4. All the fraternizing within the company it self, which also ends up becoming favoritism
    5. A lot of negativity within the branch due to unqualified management, leading to a lot of animosity within the branch.
    6. Management does not provide guidance even when sought out. This is when the nepotism kicks in and you can see very quickly who and why others are succeeding over others.

    Advice to Management

stop hiring people just because they are related to Management. Almost impossible to find some one at expeditors who didn't know anyone within the company before being hired on.

I worked at Expeditors full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Fast Pace
    - Lots of learning opportunity
    - Company is big enough for you to move to different locations or roles
    - Financially strong
    - Great insurance (no out of pocket premium)
    - Good place to start if you want to learn about global logistics
    - Strong focus on automation and thinking outside the box
    - Consistent message from top down

    Cons

    - Pay is below market
    - Each branch has their own system. They have tried to alleviate this but it creates problems on its own.
    - No work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on gaining market share. Implement a buddy system for new employees so development does not depend only on the supervisor or manager.

I worked at Expeditors full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive team. Leaderships takes time to invest in employees. Lot of processes in place for training and professional development. Easy to collaborate with other teams. Peers were all fun and professional. Health/401k matching benefit and they are working towards FWA

    Cons

Sometimes new processes were hard to implement as most employees have been there for over 10 years and are used to things running a certain way.
Their core values include professionalism which means professional wear. A lot of people don't like this but I didn't mind.
Some times it was hard to align with branches and provide all the support they may need

    Advice to Management

Keep investing time on new employees and try to bring feedback from younger employees.

I have been working at Expeditors full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are tons of opportunities for growth within the company and all of the management who I have met are very accommodating if you are not feeling like you fit in well with your team or if you're not as excited with your work as you used to be.
The benefits are second-to-none. Incredible health and commuter benefits in addition to discounts on brand name products, ranging anywhere from shoes to home-use software to cars.

    Cons

The company culture is very corporate, which is a con, according to everybody else I've talked to. Initially, I wasn't a huge fan but now I've gotten used to it and have come to appreciate the experience of being dressed on par with the CEO any day of the week. You could be in a room with business analysts, developers, upper-management, or executives and be treated with the same respect as any other employee, simply because of how you're dressed.
Lastly, there are many employees who have made up their minds that Expeditors is the company that they'd like to retire at, which can lead to a lack of motivation or creativity in the long term.

    Advice to Management

Continue to modernize the workplace to bring in young, energetic skill. We're getting there, slowly but there is a long way to go still but I understand that not every company can be a Google.

I have been working at Expeditors full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people that work as desk agents, most people work hard. Younger managers try hard to keep you motivated. Branch Management is great and if you like to keep busy and work hard there plenty of work to do. Very ethically company that people respect.

    Cons

Outdated uptight dress code, little room to advance, gag worthy nepotism with insane amount of undeserving useless drift wood that know people and got high paid gigs

    Advice to Management

Stop bringing him managements kids that have done nothing to earn the jobs they get. Everyone talks about it and no one respects them. Looks like it's set up to only get worse.
