    I have been working at Experian full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    It can be a great place to work depending on the functional area, department or business unit. Vacation package and benefits are decent.

    Cons

    company culture is inconsistent across the board. Promotions sometimes appear to be based on likeability versus merit. Company management can be clique 'ish.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on improving company culture. Hire based on merit and less cronyism

    Relatively good benefits. Flexible work from home policy.

    Cons

    Company does not seem to value employee contributions. No job security. Can be laid off with virtually no notice, regardless of prior performance reviews. Unrealistic project deadlines driven purely by marketing staff with little regard to detailed estimates.

    Same product for the last 8 years. Very little real innovation

    Pros

    Great team work and collaboration. Good work ethics.Great people to work with. Good office environment and break rooms. Multicultural environment.

    Cons

    Technical strategies are dictated by higher management who have less technical experience and have no idea what they are doing; technical people are not being consulted. Hard deadlines leave less room for software quality. IT department has always been powerless and their job is just to follow directions.

    Advice to Management

    Consider promoting the culture of keeping software engineering skills up-to-date.

    Pros

    Good company, good benefits. If you enjoy working with large data sets and advanced technologies, this is the place to be.

    Cons

    Disorganized, needs vision. Often switching priorities and chasing the shiny object (or sale) of the week. Sales seem to lead all projects, regardless of feasibility.
