I have been working at Express Scripts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefits.
Great for a stepping stone. Not a bad company to obtain experience from. College tuition and medical benefits are just a few of the pros.

    Cons

Management. Having someone in management has your best interest, not just their own. Pay is horrible, no one could really live off of this salary. I had to get a second job.

I worked at Express Scripts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got a chance to meet some really cool people. Training was awesome, and they also allow you to have unpaid time off whenever the call volume was low, they call it VTO.

    Cons

We were underpaid and understaffed the majority of the time. There was no room for advancement within the company.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Please make sure you hire enough people to cover a shift on a daily basis. Especially during open enrollment season.

I worked at Express Scripts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

ESI has a lot of the support and structure valued in a large company. Including an adequate benefit package, decent career pathing. ESI is highly ethical and supports a strong diverse work environment.

    Cons

ESI appears to be chasing success so much so that priorities and goals change extremely quickly. This erratic environment has led to continuous reorg, staff realignment, and reductions. Therefore the company has a poor morale and lack of stability feel.

    Advice to Management

Give strategies a little more time to take hold before dumping and running to the next "big" thing. The continuous shifting feels extremely inefficient and wasteful and keeps employees guessing instead of clear on the path ahead.

    Pros

    Life issues solved proactively
Variety of cultural backgrounds that make a diverse environment and experience working and learning interpersonal skills

    Cons

    There are no cons.
Every day is full of activities that leave you feeling accomplished when you leave at days end

    Advice to Management

    Absolutely none
    They rock

I worked at Express Scripts as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience for business atmosphere. Understanding of CRM utilization, claims adjudication process, client communication. Reputable company on your resume.

    Cons

Office is just like in office space, very boring. Constantly on the computer. Started as Medco until Express Scripts during merger. Can't speak much positive on the ESI side, they're based out of Missouri and seemed to be depleting the NJ based company personnel.

    Advice to Management

Listen to Managers of teams on assistance requests. If a team is overworked and understaffed that should mean there's a problem.

    Pros

Express Scripts is constantly improving to stay up to date on technology and advanced systems.

    Cons

Some departments need to improve on providing work load and hours that will help their employees have a balanced work/life balance. It will be great if pay and opportunity for job growth improves.

    Advice to Management

It will be great if Express Scripts can adopt more of Medco Health's ethics of being more client and employee focused.

    Pros

Great people, good pay fun place to work

    Cons

Bad corporate environment, managers go off on people in front of other employees. If your a contractor it could be years before they hire you if at all.

    Advice to Management

Take some training on how to handle employees, get a grip.
