I worked at Expro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the engineering department, the work was continuous and challenging. The building had good facilities and the atmosphere was generally good. The people were the best part.

    Cons

Since the downturn, there is a lot more stress and pressure to do work increasingly faster. There are little perks or incentives apart from keeping your job, which they can't guarantee. Rumours and worry plagued the office for over a year.

    Advice to Management

Be a bit more open about redundancies. It is easier to face risk when it is tangible

I worked at Expro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some real genuine people ....Not many but some.
    Big on HSE

    Cons

    Where to start.

    1. The first lesson I learned was to cover yourself - When things go wrong then the blame culture comes into effect. It got tiresome having to keep back ups of conversations and spending so much time looking over my shoulder.

    2. Your welfare isn't import- Working until 4am - No thank you's , no extra pay, no time in lieu, no concern over the stupid hours you are putting in.

    3. You have no private life -Make sure your facebook is private....better yet...delete it.

    4. No loyalty- You will be binned without a second thought once they have what they need from you.

    5. No respect - I've sat in many a meeting and have heard some pretty derogatory comments about my fellow employees, to the point I seriously considered consulting HR.

    Advice to Management

Aberdeen ( one building in particular) needs to be looked at VERY carefully.

    Pros

Good team, work-life balance, progression to mid management level and good pay. If you want to stay in one job position and get annual salary increment not worrying about job roles, Expro is a good place.

    Cons

The downside is there is lack of progression to Executive level as the Executives are almost 15-20 years in the company. The company makes several changes in very short time and try to become something which it is not. The processes are not consistent and there is a clear lack of integration between systems and departments. There is no defined career path, appraisals exists without purpose.

    Advice to Management

Bring fresh throughts into Management, Rotate people across locations and job roles. People become complacent after holding a position for a long time and when more people of similar profiles form a team, politics ensues. I hope the management can see this and do something about it.

I have been working at Expro (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing honestly, my life's worst days.

    Cons

The group engineering team leaders & managers are such idiots, know nothing other than taking credit of others & ditching them. Few of them are perverts & will harass you if you are a female. The colleagues are such nasty people, will talk behind your back, never help you, rob, cheat, disrespect.

    Advice to Management

    World's worst management. No brain.
