    Pros

Working with the best equipment in the fleet gives you the ability to maximize man hours and reliability. Be expected to have the tools required to do the job yourself.

    Cons

Too top heavy and focused less on the employee than they should be. Ever decreasing reliability with human resources. Benefits are disappearing.

    I worked at Exterran full-time

    Pros

Exposure to various natural gas engine OEM's and compression equipment. Decent place to learn, but you'll soon leave as you'll tire of the BS and Business Unit Directors that will lie to your face in a company meeting, while trying to save face with corporate i.e., cutting worker hours in a district that has plenty of revenue...

    Cons

This company used be known for training people by sending them to OEM training so you could improve your knowledge and your career. The pay is not competitive with the industry average for compression mechanics. As referenced above, Business Unit Directors (not all of them) but some will push the Area Managers to starve employees on hours- even when GPM is strong and the company is making money... Stay away from this...

I have been working at Exterran for more than a year

    Pros

Promotions are available to those who work hard. The company is growing, and is ever evolving, so there are plenty of chances to move up.

    Cons

Every organization has issues, none that can not be brought to light and worked out. This coming company is experiencing growing pains.

    Advice to Management

Pay special attention to your field service techs, we are the reason you have a job.
