    Pros

Look at a full time gig at Exterran like it's only going to last 6 months to a few years.

    Cons

This is not a good place to work if you're looking for a company with values and longevity.

    Pros

Good people, just not enough of them.

    Cons

Low commodity prices have hammered order bookings and bottom line results. Expect continued layoffs, asset sales, and reduced compensation packages for those remaining. Bloated corporate human resources function more appropriately sized for Exxon Mobil continues to survive for some reason, soaking up SG&A dollars like Donald Trump soaks up sunshine. You'd better be passionate about doing more with less unless you go to work in HR.

    Advice to Management

Whatever you're spending on HR, it's too much. I recognize you for being you!

    Pros

All these pros back to before splitting:
    Great and friendly environment.
    opportunities to learn new skills.
    Good benefits and health insurance.

    Cons

After spin-off and coming new CEO to board everything was ruined. they don't even know how to run the company. Stressful work conditions with a lot of recurring changes. There is no future in this company with new management.

I have been working at Exterran full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

With the right manager, there are opportunities to really add value to the company, and some are receptive to new approaches. Had a few talented, skilled coworkers that were best of breed. Bonus' used to be excellent but under new management this will most likely go away. Expect average compensation, and lower than average 401k and health insurance.

    Cons

Company split during an economic downturn and post-split immediately began to layoff those that enabled the transaction to occur. This calls into question the motivation of the leadership and is a trust buster.
Former GE Executive is the new CEO. Are forced ranking evaluations not far behind?
Managers are untrained and emotional - seem to have benefited from social promotion rather than merit.
Thinly staffed - Requests to work extra is the norm and is unrecognized.
Lots of finger pointing by management.
Hard and fast processes are constantly being re-interpreted by management leaving staff confused and searching for consistency.
Project timelines are decided prior to project scoping.
Cost of living increases frozen for 3 years running.

    Advice to Management

Train managers to be advocates of the employee and to inspire them. Everyone is fearful of the market and are afraid of losing their job. The entire company is strangled by negativity.

    Pros

    They had decent good benefits.

    Cons

I worked at Exterran for 5 years and had 7 bosses. They do not pride in helping the right people success. I was promoted twice, but into position that they wanted me in vs. where I wanted to grow. They have constant turnover due to lack of career growth. NO work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and don't use them as pawns to track your peers movements.

I worked at Exterran full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Good opportunities to Learn
-Management gives opportunities to do certification and take trainings, only mandate is keep following your manager
    - Contractor friendly company, all contractor friends keep looking for any open position here, they pay really big bucks and you can spend ages here if you make good relationship with managers.
    - Employee safety is priority, all meetings start with safety minute.
    - Company does a lot of community services

    Cons

    - Contractor friendly company, a big Con for full time employee
    -No count of Employees word
-Expensive insurance, no exciting benefits - quite common
-Management is always busy, no time to listen employees, there have been time personally where I went for something urgent and manager told he can not talk as of now and said will talk in one on one.
-Mid management/ Manager will repeat same topics again and again in One on One/Team meeting etc which has been communicated via email or senior leadership, may be just to consume time of actual meeting.
-At times felt like manager has no say (no power) and always use to behave as if nothing in his hands.
-Some of the senior managers will not even respond to your Hi or Good Morning and will ignore like anything.
    - No Appreciation/credit to employees, for any bigger project go live or occasions only managers are invited for appreciation parties and employees who actually put everything are ignored like anything.
    - Old Employees who have spent 25 , 15 more than 10 years were laid off to reduce cost and Contractors were still kept who are really paid well.

    Advice to Management

    Make expectations clear
    Appreciate/Reward employees
Don't be self-centric, if employee grows you will also grow.
