I worked at Extra Space full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

High-tech storage company. Best all around company I've worked for so far. I love it at extra space. Kudos.

    Cons

It is hard to find anything negative to say about extra space. I loved working there. Highly recommended.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to clean house and finally get rid of all the lazy no gooders.

I worked at Extra Space full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No boss hovering over you, minimal amount of stress when it comes to daily duties

    Cons

Dirty job, lie to customers, trained to take advantage of the less fortunate

    Advice to Management

Honestly I feel the way the company is structured isn't something that management can deal with. The higher ups need to address the lack of ethics going on within the policies. As a proud millenial I'm determined to give my money to companies that I know are making the world a better place. ESS is not doing that. They are incredibly greedy and treat their tenants like absolute crap. I'm not butthurt about the way I left the company, I left in good standing but the reasons behind me leaving have not changed. I wanted to be with an ethical company who truly believed in helping their fellow man. ESS is not the place for this.

I worked at Extra Space full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not the worst company that I have worked for.

    Cons

Low pay for a lot of various types of work. Company asks you to lie to customers about insurance and pricing.

    Advice to Management

Quit lying to your customers. A quality product will sell without lying.

I have been working at Extra Space full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free uniforms and shoes

    That's it

    Cons

    -Pay is horrible
    -Store manager takes advantage
-They only care about your numbers
    -Little room for growth
    -They pretend they care

    Advice to Management

Give a clear layout of what the job is from the start. Tell everyone they will be cleaning units but also urine, vomit and feces from tenants that longer around the property. Oh and they except you to pretend you are an SM when you are just an assistant

    Pros

Great hours, wonderful chances to interact with our tenants and to help them become more than just numbers on a spreadsheet. Great team interaction with the rest of our district, creating a very friendly work environment.

    Cons

Question: Why are so many people slobs, when it comes to leaving drinks, food wrappers, cigarette butts, feces, etc., on the property? Ah, well....

    Advice to Management

Need to keep our sites staffed properly, as too often we are single-covered, and unable to properly keep up with cleanings, lock-cuttings, new customers and their leases and needs, etc.
