    Pros

Great company with the smartest people, good processes, support if you use it right. Lots of varied opportunities. Good long term pay package.

Can experience lots of different jobs, businesses, and locations without leaving the company.

    Cons

Can be bureaucratic, very process oriented. Pay review system can serve to demotivate.

    Advice to Management

Consider a less rigid performance evaluation system that does not demotivate and provides managers with more flexibility in raises and mobility of staff.

Global company with oppositions on nearly every continent.

Campus move out of Houston to Spring is a burden for many who don't want to be forced to live in the suburbs.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits, management is truly interested in seeing you succeed, great community, impeccable safety record, great safety culture, opportunities for advancement, management really listens to your work preferences

    Cons

Technology is way behind the times (am currently using an '07 model laptop). High sensitivity to security makes it difficult to get things done sometimes. Management has yet to really jump on board with flexible work hours, remote work, and many of the other more progressive ways to get work done, so expect to work 9-5 Monday through Friday unless you luck out and get a really cool manager.

    Advice to Management

Adopt more flexible work situations! Flexible hours and remote work. This is where the whole workforce is headed, and study after study has linked it to greater employee satisfaction and productivity.

I worked at ExxonMobil as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, intelligent hardworking coworkers, face-paced, great campus facilities.

    Cons

Competitiveness can breed contempt amongst employees, making collaboration challenging at times.

    Advice to Management

More training to supervisory roles. Supervisors seemed great on the technical side of things but not so great when it came to soft skills.

I have been working at ExxonMobil full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People and diverse work experiences are the reason I work here. Everyone is willing to help and there is a lot of team projects and assignments.

    Cons

Bureaucracy is very dominant in this large organization. Overworked staff in current economic environment. The company is too structured and stiff, and molds new employees into their traditional culture without empowering them to change.

    Advice to Management

Transparency with your employees needs to improve!
