    Pros

Some great people. Excellent healthcare. You really have to screw up to get fired. Some wonderful co-workers. Lots of half days. Two Christmas parties (1 corporate, 1 for branch).

    Cons

Growing too rapidly. CFO became the COO and corporate culture has gone down the tubes. Management is clueless and has gotten very selfish. Slow computers and lame tech support. Customers complain and there's nothing you can do because management ties your hands. People from the corporate building eat stuff that warehouses put out for customers.

    Advice to Management

Get your head out of your butts and make this place good again.

    Pros

Benefits are good. The owner and his son are great guys who appreciate their employees.

    Cons

Branch level Managers did not know how to lead employees. Would regurally hold meetings during recession and tell employees that they need to work harder, or get let go. Morale is completely horrible and in the toilet (at least in Auburn).

    Advice to Management

Advice to branch level managers- take courses to learn how to LEAD your team. Treat your employees better.
Advice to owners- Keep doing what your doing. The employees love you. Teach your skills to the Auburn Managers

I worked at F.W. Webb (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They offer decent pay, nice people to work with, they also offer great benefits. A great camaraderie among co-workers.

    Cons

Management only cares about the $$ signs, management expects you to work crazy hours week in and week out. Limited opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to have realistic expectations for workers and for sales goals.

I have been working at F.W. Webb full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

FW Webb is a leader in their space, but also represents a 150 year legacy of success in the Northeast. I worked for 3 Fortune 100 companies before joining Webb, and the differences in shared values and loyalty are positively tangible. There is strength at the top and the growth prospects are real.

Pay is competitive, benefits are strong, and the Pope family (ownership) is clearly committed to the employees.

    Cons

My experience since joining Webb is overwhelmingly positive. There are occasional signs of growing pains, but nothing that doesn't get worked out quickly. The company is surprisingly nimble at its age and size.

    Advice to Management

The focus on growth is right. The loyalty to those who care is appreciated. Continue focus on attracting, developing and retaining the next generation of talent.

    Advice to Management

people will feal more intouch with your company when you call them by thier first name
