    Pros

Good pay and benefits even for mediocre talent. Stable company for folks who want to just do a day job and earn their pay-check. Heavily dependent on the current CEO.

    Cons

No growth seen on horizon as it is the leader in an already matured market. Horrible acquisitions in recent history. Micro-management in certain pockets. High-level executive decisions are questionable.

    Advice to Management

Think about the strategy sooner than later.

    Pros

The pursuit of technological superiority at F5 is impressive. PM and engineering never stop to explore new and latest advancement in networking and security arena.

    Cons

Culture is a little quiet. Need more vibrant spirits in technology communication and bring liveness into daily routines.

    Advice to Management

Keep company synchronized to the latest development.

    Pros

Good work life balance, generous PTO, laid back work environment, good pay, good downtown location

    Cons

"silo" team structure. Poor team to team communication. Currently in CEO transition. Seems that there is a lack of consensus on what company's core competency is.

    Pros

F5 is big enough to grow and innovate but small enough to easily navigate. Great people, a lot of new leadership to drive the company forward.

    Cons

Some people are stuck in their ways especially in Seattle

    Advice to Management

Continue to innovate and drive growth through acquisitions.

I worked at F5 Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the product is unique and the technology is interesting. benefits are industry standard but really nothing extraordinary.

    Cons

this is a company with an identity crisis. they want to appear to be professional grown players, but don't actually know how to get there. management is nepotism at its finest, way too many people making decisions with their only qualification being having the right drinking partner at the keg on Friday afternoon. for a company that claims to be so process oriented, just because you have a system that contains processes doesn't mean that the processes make sense in todays high tech world. this company has the look and feel of companies i worked for in the 90s...too much growth with not enough competition and and exaggerated sense of self worth. it will only take a viable competitor to knock them off the pedestal and send them into a fate of being purchased for pennies on the dollar.

    Advice to Management

steve jobs said it best: you shouldnt hire smart people and tell them what to do. you should hire smart people and let them tell you what to do. 'nuff said.

    Cons

career path is not clear, and the standard for promotion is not even across the entire organization. Pay is market level but do not expect top tier one especially when the stock price flat lined
