I have been working at F5 Networks full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    1. Generally decent company communication (regular company meetings, video updates from leaders, email announcements), 2. Good comp 3. Great benefits 4. great company culture. 5. company is working hard to stay relevant, increase innovation, and is focusing on making changes for the better Granted, I haven't been here longer than 3 years like some other reviewers and I'm sure there are pockets of areas in the company...

    Cons

Difficult to think of anything. Finance systems/processes seem behind the times.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course. And do NOT decrease company cultural spend (team lunches, EIG's, donation match program, F5 Day, etc). Public companies are notorious for cost cutting and claiming the need to deliver for shareholders. I say BS. Please please maintain cultural programs!

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

-- Great benefits: family plans for HDHP health are at no monthly cost to the employee -- Work/life balance: flexible schedule and ability to work from home -- Smart individual contributors: most of the people I work with are incredibly smart for their field and want to make improvements and take ownership

    Cons

-- Clueless middle management: There are far too many middle managers with no experience with the teams they're managing, making it difficult for individual contributors to make any difference or own anything. -- Lots of politics: Making needed improvements will take at least a year and most of that will be trying to get answers and approvals. There are a lot of plans made leaving little time to get the work done. It...

    Advice to Management

Allow your individual contributors to have the authority to be an owner or remove that core value. Remove the unnecessary approvals to make improvements for the customer or remove the values of obsessing over customer needs and choosing speed. Hire management with diverse background and experience with the team they're managing and experience as a manager. The culture/values look great in writing but need to be followed...

I have been working at F5 Networks full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, great product, and the CEO is great!

    Cons

Lots of budget issues. Outside Sales rules everything and are able to treat other employees unfairly because they are treated like Kings. Culture is horrible but the current CEO is trying to change things I do believe it will be better in a few years!

    Advice to Management

Even out the playing field by paying the inside team and operations team better. Support these teams when the outside reps are disrespectful.
