    Pros

Amazing opportunities and amazing benefits. Even better people. Ability to work on some of the coolest, up-and-coming advertising in the world.

    Cons

This job is a lot of work, but totally worth it. Prepare for an unforgettable, yet incredibly busy summer.

I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company post recession seems to be doing much better. The Auburn hills tech center is much nicer than ford's tech center and the factory's are well maintained, unless the product is old. If hired by the right contract house the benefits are good.

    Cons

I believe Chrysler's wage structure lags as do most of their automobiles. They seem to be behind with most technologies, yet catching up fast. The catching up would cause new hires to likely pickup the slack for less.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment and small company feel with large company security. A lot of opportunity to change your position if you get bored all while staying within the same building or at least the same area.

    Cons

Being a smaller company, difficult to innovate due to risk of failure.

    Pros

Good competitive salary and work life balance.

    Cons

Serious lack of innovation in the company and decision making power for mid level employees.

    Advice to Management

Provide more autonomy and decision making power to mid level employees

I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a contractor

    Pros

Good pay, nice grounds, helpful people, great food.

    Cons

Contract positions change rapidly and without warning, some on roll staff use their status to be rude to contractors

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company enviroment is open. Management listens employee and empowers you to implement your ideas. Many opportuities for learning and growth.

    Cons

Becoming full time (direct hire) is not easy (waiting 3+ years is normal in Electrical / Uconnect departments). Benefits are good for full time employees. Salary is on lower side compared to other big 2 companies. Employees rentention is challenge. Expectation is to work 50 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Senior management and HR should seriously consider employees retention issue. Make employees internal transitioning easier so people don't leave company. Beat the market in salary and benefits (matching salaries / benefits is insufficient to keep talent in today's HOT market). Consider improving processes and products for APAC, ROW and EU markets as well.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Initial offer had a decent salary considering the good benefits. Accepted salary negotiation to reach a well above market value salary.
-Automatic contributions to 401k and matching
    -Okay healthcare options
    -Friendly, goal driven environment
-Will send you to training for various softwares
-Good career opportunities taking the place of people who leave for GM and Ford...
-Building is nice with a big cafeteria and large windows

    Cons

-The work life balance isn't perfect. It's a bit up and down depending on where a program is in development.
-The technical prowess isn't as high as I expected it to be. Many experienced people have left to GM or Ford for pay raises leaving a hole in talent. Too much emphasis is placed on benchmarking other vehicles that are assumed to be good rather than spending time to do original, thoughtful design.
-The design studio has a much better working environment. More ergonomic setup, open layout workplace, etc.

    Advice to Management

Stagger the products correctly to maintain a less variable workflow. Renovate the cube farms to the same layout as the design studio. How do you think the startups in California appeal to young engineers they poach from Detroit?

    Pros

    Great access to great products

    Cons

Merit Raises are few and far between. Competency is secondary to a "yes" mentality

    Advice to Management

Look longer term than the next 12 months with employees. Necessary experience is walking out the door every day
