I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, technology is really advanced. I enjoy the job and the opportunities that have come with it. The pay is great.

    Cons

It still has some of the old school way of dealing with things. The good ol boy system. Seems like they want to embrace the future while living in the past.

    Advice to Management

Don't force salary people to work so many hours you either run off good talent or keep them from even applying.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

OT, even for salaried employees. HR specifies anything over 40 hours/wk but the general expectation is anything over 45 if you are salaried.

Employee lease program is very generous, especially if you have teenagers of driving age - insurance covers them at no extra cost, no down payment for the lease, low monthly payments, and unlimited mileage.

Beyond excellent health benefits coverage and cost. For on-roll salaried employees, the benefits are incredible for what you pay. If you are a contractor it is up to the contracting house you work for. Typically I see very poor health benefits at a great monetary cost.

You can buy an extra week of vacation during yearly benefit enrollment so even starting out you can get 3 weeks of vacation.

Managers get an annual bonus and annual raises, depending on company performance and your individual evaluation respectively.

In many cases, the company will pay your relocation costs and give an extra stipend for unforeseen expenses.

Basic life insurance provided and purchasing increases are extremely cheap.

Large yearly professional development budget available to lowest level managers. Covers tuition, professional certifications, travel, etc...

    Cons

Less time at home than expected, you will be working overtime if you work here (but are paid for it)

On-roll employees treated completely different that contractors when you are hired on-roll the red carpets are brought out.

I have very little to be unhappy about with FCA, their information technology department is top notch and well managed.

    Advice to Management

The hiring process is incredibly slow. When an employee leaves it takes months to fill the open slot. This means everyone else needs to work extra hours to cover if multiple people leave you are never fully staffed.

    Pros

Lots of overtime, multiple bonuses throughout the year, great benefits paid for by the company and several jobs to learn

I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of responsibility give early on. Fast paced. Great people. Overtime. They'll pay for you to go back to school. Great medical.

    Cons

Old school management types run everything. Everyone has a "I have to cover my arse" attitude. The hierarchy is really layered.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a culling of management. Bring in outside talent. The good old boy's club at the top is ruining the company.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay, lots of overtime when sales are good. 4x10 work schedule is great for those with enough seniority to hold day shift. World Class Manufacturing principles are having a positive impact in the operations and work environment. the opportunity to work on and learn a large variety of machine types

    Cons

Alternate Work Schedule; 4 days of 10 hours, not family friendly for low seniority workers who are on the off shifts or nights. Forced overtime can further interfere with a balanced life.
