I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The only good thing about working at FCA is the pay.

    Cons

I didn't listen to the previous reviews, thinking it couldn't be THAT bad. I was wrong. People don't leave jobs, they leave managers. There is a vast lack of leadership at FCA. Majority of the people here are miserable, they only stay because it pays well. Most of the people here are defensive and ready to throw you under the bus in a heartbeat. FCA and its leadership team only cares about meeting sales goals. They do not care about you, your career, your happiness, or your work-life balance. I met so many people here that didn't know the names of their coworkers' loved ones. There is very little humanity at FCA. I have never written a Glassdoor review but I felt it was necessary to tell any prospective job-seeker the truth about this place. For your own sanity, pass on this job and find a company that actually cares about its employees.

    Advice to Management

FCA needs culture badly. People need to feel valued and appreciated. The good people are dropping like flies and if you want real change you need to be the change. Say something. It's 2019, the old school mentality that FCA is stuck in is no longer being tolerated by the driven and passionate people you can't seem to keep.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great company car selection. Stable work if you want to do your job for a long time. OK benefits. There are parts of the company with simply amazing managers that care(I stress "parts" - see cons).

    Cons

New Leadership since Sergio's departure is lackluster and headcount has increased at the top and has dwindled at the bottom. This has stalled innovation and the "musical chairs" has ended leaving many company lifers (20+ years) coasting their careers in key positions. This coincided with a pay freeze - I have more responsibility with the same pay year over year. The smart people can see the writing on the wall - 3 Directors have quit in the past 6 months to go to dealers. It is very easy to hit a dead end with a VP/Director that doesn't care - be careful what positions you take.

    Advice to Management

Bring back the quarterly bonus system for revenue generating employees - it doesn't cost you any more $ (you are still taking from your 10% bonus target, but you are tying it more to performance). Give raises based on workload and merit.

I have been working at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits with great company match. Flex scheduling if you are a superstar.

    Cons

Long hours. Large organization, narrow job focus. Low organizational moral in general.

    Advice to Management

You take employee engagement surveys then do nothing with them. The first step is great, but it rubs salt in the wound when nothing actually changes.

    Pros

Lots of job opportunities Easy to see a future career path Cool products

    Cons

Management often has to figure out solutions, and not all solutions are consistent Very little standardization which leads to a 'wild west' approach at times Ability to move up quickly, if that is your goal

    Advice to Management

Standardize the process to complete important tasks Stick to the standardized method The cost of upward mobility is extreme time dedication and little work/life balance
