I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Ability to move to various locations across the country if you want to travel. Company car with expense account. Pay is average with little increases.

    Cons

Unethical business practices with high pressure put on lower managers and dealerships to maintain a high level of inventory. Pay increases are low, if existant at all. Large turn over over the past 5 years due to stress and pressure on lower management. Everyone is looking over their shoulders daily.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror and do the right thing. Stop being ego maniacs and start leading by example.

I worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles full-time

    Pros

Health care benefits. Lots of autonomy

    Cons

Totally disorganized, only the CEO can make decisions. Too many issues trying to deal with fiat and Chrysler differences in systems and processes so it's a gridlock when it comes to decisions. Also people internally tend to be yes men and women because that's the only way people make it through the projects that never seem to launch

    Advice to Management

Care about your people and empower your management team. Give clear direction on things that are global

    Pros

Depending on the department, the company is run fairly lean, you will gain decent experience and leave after 1-2 years. Company car program is a nice perk.

    Cons

There is no strategy. There is no short term or long term plan. Every day the plan changes. This company struggles with communication. Neither the leaders nor the groups are on the same page. The company is in need of serious organization, direction and communication improvements. There is absolutely no path to promotion - even if you work your tail off and receive excellent reviews.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the CEO and CFO is to develop a plan and communicate that plan to your people. The company seems to have absolutely no plan - and no vision - or how we can help you achieve that vision. Help us help you with clear direction. Nothing is being communicated clearly or concisely (or even consistently). Continue to purge lazy dead weight throughout the organization - don't just do it in certain departments. It is a company-wide issue. There is a serious issue with only promoting men, and mostly white men, wake up and deal with it. The 10 most recent promotions were all white men. The Midwest boys club has to come to an end. Lastly there is absolutely no path to promotion in most departments. How exactly do you plan to motivate anyone?
