I have been working at FDM Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great people and training. Management works hard to set you up for life.

    Cons

During the training process if you live in the area is hard due to the minimum wage pay for those 3-4 months. If you live far away they put you up in a hotel which is nice.

I have been working at FDM Group for more than a year

    Pros

Gets your foot in the door to a major company - i would have never been hired for my higher level position otherwise

    Cons

they take more than half your salary first and second year and steep price if 2year contract broken

    Advice to Management

great program - need to refine the onboarding process by providing more thorough assistance in the transition

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

FDM NYC has good clients specially in the financial industry. If you love technology and finance this is probably the place that will get you there Good insurance benefits

    Cons

Pay- They should really be paying more competitive salaries, specially for the amount of money they make out of you. Management- There a few good people here but for the most part account managers try to manipulate people into taking jobs they do not want (careful if you want to be a developer, don't let them push you into an app support role you will not be happy) and have no flexibility withing the first 2... years of your contract, they do not work with you to help they try to manipulate.

    Advice to Management

Hire smart account managers that will place trainees in roles that fit both the client and consultant. Revise your HR procedures, sick days should not be part of the time off, NYC law provides 5 paid sick days, just pay your employees you are making millions out of us. If a consultant is not happy offer a way for them to transition into a different role, may be after a year if they can make it.

    Cons

    - salary is not commensurate with previous experience before FDM. Business model is geared towards to potential candidates who will benefit from the training. - unpaid training during 2014. Unsure if this policy has changed.

    Advice to Management

Great work. Please continue what you are doing. Also, please allow flexibility for varied salary depending on previous qualifications and experience that was gained before FDM.

I have been working at FDM Group for more than a year

    Pros

-Can get placed at a company that wouldn't look at your resume otherwise -Good start if you will be satisfied with anything in the IT field -Trainers are very personable (for the most part) -Doesn't require much experience -Nice Location

    Cons

-Salary is way below market value -Unpaid training (they don't even cover transportation) -Terrible health insurance package -With contract terms, you can possibly end up owing FDM Group $30,000 -Contracts often fall through (you end up getting placed only to find out a few days later that the company is not interested anymore) -Relocation package bait and switch (you could get shortchanged for various... reasons) -Management rarely interacts with you once you get placed -As a consultant, you will feel like a second class citizen You will find that a majority of the consultants (including myself) are at FDM for the following reason(s): 1. English is not the primary language 2. Smart but low GPA/No experience 3. Socially awkward 4. Veteran with basic knowledge of a computer Do yourself a favor and look long and hard before signing a contract with FDM Group!

    Advice to Management

Pull it together. I understand that you are trying to run a business but its a little too evident that there isn't a single care for your product (the consultants)

Great clients and few but very knowledgable trainers

    Cons

Two year binding contract and the pay isn't competitive to similar consulting groups

    Advice to Management

If pay could be higher, otherwise nothing really negative.

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-placement in industry leading companies and potential full time employment there after two years as a consultant

    Cons

Everything else. -Sluggish administration -Constantly "loosing" emails -Terrible pay -Useless account managers -$30,000 training fee if your contract terminates early (if you resign or get fired)

    Advice to Management

don't make promises you don't keep, like setting up carpooling for your consultant, helping them find an apartment or you know paying for their hotel.
