I worked at FFE Transportation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you're looking for a part-time job, this will work for you as long as you DON'T lease a truck.

    Cons

They call you day by day when they need you. You can waste a whole day just waiting for a load. If you are looking for a job to support a family and pay bills, THIS AIN'T IT! Their load planning makes no sense. There can be a load there waiting to be moved to where you are returning to, but they will deadhead you back, which means less earning for you, and instead use company drivers to meet halfway to swap the load. The company has lost a lot of accounts. Right now it looks like it's downsizing, which makes no sense for a trucking company. There will be weeks when you can't even make your truck payment. DON'T LEASE! It is hard to get through to a living breathing person in the evening hours. There are better lease programs out there with companies that will keep you moving and earning decent pay.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like you care. Instead, show that you care about those that keep you in business. If you would rather "use" and abuse lease operators, don't offer a leasing program. The CEO is all talk. All he cares about is making a buck at your cost. I stopped calling in to hear his weekly messages; hot air. Glassdoor needs to update the name of the CEO. Most of the terminal managers that I have met are worthless.

    Pros

Somewhat stable work. Almost always have freight. If your new it is a great start.

    Cons

This place is iffy when it comes to payroll. They have no set pay rate besides what it says on your check they tell you what they pay you but it is not in writing. And they never notify you of pay rate changes. When it comes to your pay watch your check.

    Advice to Management

Put your pay rates in writing. Notify of pay changes. Maintain Warehouse productivity to get loads out on time to actually become a logistics company instead of a transportation company. This would increase your revenues substantially. The more dependable you are the more requested you will be .

I have been working at FFE Transportation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for new drivers, brand-new equipment, and mostly up-to-date facilities. Also as many miles as you can manage, which is a boon for lease trucks.

    Cons

Watch your back, always, especially if you're in the line haul department. Dispatch only cares about the loads, and will try to make you run in unsafe conditions. Remember that you are the driver, you decide when to run.

    Advice to Management

Give company drivers a little more leeway.

I have been working at FFE Transportation full-time

    Pros

The company offers an excellent training academy (including meal and board) with no money taken out of pocket after training is successfully completed. New equipment and overall good mileage across the board. They also offer flexibility of local, regional, and line-haul runs.

    Cons

Terminals are being improved but still many don't offer more than a shower; if that. Dispatches need more training when it comes to coordination as it pertains to loads, mechanical issues, and time management - these are overall quickly resolved.

    Advice to Management

Hire dispatchers who were former truck drivers. - Those that were former truck drivers and are now dispatchers are much more knowledgeable and effective than the ones who are not.

    Pros

Good place to work. Not overworked. Fair hours for salaried employees. Never an issue when you need a day off.

    Cons

Pay is not up to par with similar companies. Benefits are awful in my opinion. High out of pocket costs with high deductibles.

    Advice to Management

Better pay for experienced employees who make a difference in making & saving the company money. If company paid better and had a better benefits package this would be a great place to work.
