I worked at FHI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company birthday party's during each month and opportunities to win gift cards. Small company everyone knows everyone. Treat you as if your a adult not watching your every move.

    Cons

Not a lot of room to grow within the company. Needs more diversity of coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Let your team know what is happening in the company before they find out from others.

I have been working at FHI full-time

    Pros

You can pretty much control how much $ you want to make.

    Cons

I could be tough to get in contact with HR at Home office when you really need some info.

    Advice to Management

Listen more often to the concerns of employees.

I worked at FHI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you get lucky, get some favoritism from the bosses, work a lot of overtime, and work really hard you can make close to 40k a year in some of the buildings.

    Cons

Not paid hourly. Paid by the amount of product you move. Problem is, a lot of the time you can't get work done and it's beyond your control. Conveyors go down, you run out of room to work and have to wait, you get a bad truck that pays terrible no matter how hard you work, etc.

    Advice to Management

Redesign the pay system so that luck isn't a factor in your employee's "production-based" income.

I worked at FHI (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to meet some good people. Benefits are pretty cheap and there is a 10% bonus each week. That's it.

    Cons

Leads pick their loads and leave the leftovers for everyone else. You get clocked out for breaks even if you work through it. Lunch breaks are not encouraged. Serious lack of communication. Pay is only good for your first two weeks then good luck paying bills. The managers will say what you want to hear just to get you in the door. Long hours.

    Advice to Management

Talk with your employees and see if there are any issues. Right now some of your site managers are nothing more than unsupervised children. A conference call with the manager is not going to give you the full picture.

"The manager Jose is by far the best person I have ever known, and the tram was a good team to work for."

I worked at FHI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Manager Jose is amazing and so was the crew. Working hard from 6am til around 2pm was nice. Taking lunch when you could was a plus.

    Cons

Working for FHI for Publix was very challenging. Publix would not have their "motor drivers" to haul away the freight in a timely manner. When your done unloading a truck and the sick is full it could take them hours to move your 23 or so pallets so you could have enough space. Doing this cost you money because you get paid on commission per truck load, if you don't make rate then you get your $12.00 BUT if your team gets done early in the day and you still don't hit rate, so you loose hours in the week for your hourly rate.

    Advice to Management

Jose, you are by far the most kindest and down to earth manager/person I have ever met. If my family could afford for me to continue to work for FHI for such a low income I would had. But I had to move on to better opportunities.
