I have been working at FIREapps

    Pros

I've been with the company for over a year. I began as an intern in an entry level position and moved my way up to a full-time position working around my college classes. Working for FiREapps has given me the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and put my college education to practice. This tech company is on the leading edge and has some of the most bright and passionate individuals you will meet. They take care of their employees with great benefits, competitive pay, and a break room that is always stocked with food and drinks. Tremendous opportunity for growth if you are ready, willing and able. I hope to continue to grow with this company.

    Cons

I'm always challenged to be the best version of myself. This is a fast growing tech company that is on the bleeding edge in their industry. You have to continually challenge yourself, be open to learning new concepts, and have a positive attitude to do well here.

    I worked at FIREapps full-time

    Pros

    Free Snacks For All Employees.

    Cons

The announcement (or should I say email) came as a complete surprise to my team and I in the middle of the week. This was their first (of many) mistakes in handling the merger. To our surprise that very same day (half) of various team members from Kyriba showed up to both offices. Most of us right then and there realized how screwed we were since we were now meeting the people who were going to take our jobs. After many forced and unprepared "tell me about your job" interviews most of us were left with a bitter taste in our mouth and relentless anxiety. By the 3rd week in it was pretty obvious who would still have a cushy job with Kyriba. Basically, if you are a 50 year old white male or an attractive, brown nosing female you were safe. Our so called "leader" did a GREAT job at making everyone else feel incredibly insecure about our future by the end of March. To add insult to injury we were then bombarded by a flood of frantic emails from HR stating that we HAD to use up all of our PTO by the end of the month. However, the catch was that we were still expected to respond to emails. Of course, none of us realized this was the case until we were actually on PTO. They also continued to hire new employees in the AZ office even though NOT everyone was going to keep their job. Talk about a slap in the face. In the end my team and I lost ALL motivation to continue doing our jobs and instead job hunted/interviewed on company time. I can honestly say this was the first (and only) time my team rallied to cover for one another. Communication: Terrible. The JERK CEO literally had NO answers to give during our forced and very awkward acquisition meetings. At one meeting we were finally told to make ourselves "visible" to our counterparts at Kyriba. Um, with what contact information? Most of us assumed we would have to stalk them via social media since they never provided us a chance to make actual human contact. The "select few" were invited to Kyriba sponsored events while the rest of us were left straggling behind. Talk about feeling unwanted.

I have been working at FIREapps full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are many great things about this company. First of all, the work environment is far better than other companies I have worked for. You get the sense that upper management cares about your ideas and thoughts, and that they welcome feedback. The C-suite members are incredibly personal, and give you the time of day. Everyone here seems to be very dedicated to building a great company and product, and to providing immense value to their clients. The people are all very friendly and willing to help you learn and grow. I feel like I have gained quite a few skills while working here, and I've been here for a little over a year. There's definitely a feeling of family and camaraderie here. Since this is still a smaller company, some of the processes you may expect from a larger company are still being hashed out, albeit quickly and with high priority. For example, one of the things the company has been focusing more on is giving better reviews of work performance, and also training for employees. Also, there has been some turnover in the past, but management has taken strides to mitigate those issues.

    Cons

It can be a little intimidating at first to jump into such a complex niche market, especially with little prior experience. The information and knowledge is definitely attainable, but it will require (as with most other things) a can-do, go-getter attitude when it comes to self-education. If you're the type of person who likes a challenging work environment with increasing responsibilities, and are a self-manager when it comes to learning and career growth, then you may perform well here. Don't expect to know everything the first few months: the subject matter is complex and multi-faceted.

I have been working at FIREapps full-time

    Pros

I just started at this company on Monday and I cannot stress how great the experience has been. The interview process was very in depth but after starting, it is clear why. I am surrounded extremely professional and intelligent individuals. GREAT benefits and location in Scottsdale! Fully stocked kitchen and lots of company outings. Amazing company culture and chances to get to know others in the office in depth.

    Cons

I haven't found any cons at this point.

I worked at FIREapps full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Fireapps solution is a very good and robust foreign currency analytic solution designed for multi-national corporations. It takes what has normally been a very manual and time consuming process and automated it while wrapping around a plethora of analytics to help better identify exposure and risk. It is designed to be sold to treasury and finance which can be a very tough sale as change does not come easy for some of them. Overall the product is very good with a lot of intelligent people working to enhance and make revisions to the product on a continual basis.

    Cons

Hands down this was the worst experience of my professional working career. Sales leadership is the biggest downside to working at Fireapps. They are in dire need of a true sales leader who can instill a sense of camaraderie within the sales team, offer innovation and strategic guidance. Basically, the sales people are silo'd with little interaction among each other. The company bills itself as a technology company or Fin Tech as they like to call it but the office environment is very much reserved, standoffish and devoid of energy. The people were nice but it was a very strange and weird environment lacking in the normal office camaraderie you'd expect in most professional working environments. Two days in I knew I'd made the wrong decision.

    I worked at FIREapps full-time

    Pros

it's definitely brings the culture that you would expect in a fast growing FinTec company. There are a lot of smart people that are paving a new industry, and each day brings new challenges and exciting opportunities to Grow. They have a great product with high renewal rate, so from a sales perspective, it was amazing being able to reference huge companies that everyone knows, and have clients that are eager to be a reference.

    Cons

The culture definitely promotes a self starter mentality, so if you are not entrepreneurial and ambitious I wouldn't suggest it-Growing at such a fast pace, can leave some people that are looking for a typical "9-5" in the dust.
