I have been working at FIS full-time

    Pros

Friendly coworkers , very large corporation with many, opportunities to work overseas. Excellent office space. Many opportunities to work remote from almost anywhere

    Cons

As a. Former SunGard employee, he transition to FIS has been a great disappointment. FIS us is cheap, it does not value experience or expertise. Limited opportunity training, ridiculous tuition reimbursement, very stressful, convoluted management

    Advice to Management

You get what you pay for when it comes to staff. Just because you can get 2 graduates for the price of one with experience, does not make it a valid or valuable strategy. Your internal propaganda says you want to retain workers, do more than talk about it! Pay us better and provide opportunity for professional growth.

Let there be one chief and a lot of Indians. Everyone can't be the head.

I have been working at FIS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits. Working from home at times. Secured building to work in downtown.

    Cons

Management. Not caring about employee tenure or investing in employees. Stopped being focused on client experience when FIS purchased SunGard. FIS cares only about FIS, not those that actually make the systems work. There is a definite "Good Ole Boys Club" in Jacksonville. Those that suck up to management are the ones that are promoted.

    Advice to Management

Oh yes, I have advice. Come down out of the ivory towers that you sit in and actually LISTEN to the employees. No, not the managers...those on the floor and do the work, because they are the ones that will tell you how things really are. The entire reason that Jacksonville is even on the map for FIS in the way it is now is due to SunGard and those that build that company up. Now, it's a shell of itself, and soon the Jacksonville-based FIS products will continue spiraling downward until you have no dedicated employees left. You'll find that you've driven all the hardworking ones away and you're only left with those that told you exactly what you wanted to hear, and nothing more. Wake up.

I have been working at FIS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits, Great Coworkers, Flexible Attendance Policy

    Cons

As you get higher in the company, it is obvious that the problems come from the top down. The approach to accountability is flawed: they will work the people who give their all to death and allow those that get by without meeting basic requirements of the position to continue doing so.

    Advice to Management

Review how you hold your supervisors and managers accountable. The turnover at the call centers could be MUCH lower if each agent received the support they deserved.
