  • Upper management totes this notion of the 3C's; which is theory sounds like a great approach, but this is not carried through (in 5 reviews)

I worked at FLIR full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

FLIR has a strong ethical culture. There is a focus on delivering quality, innovative products and superior customer service. I am also aware that FLIR may appropriate choices when faced with challenging situations.

    Cons

FLIR is a finance-driven company, often to a fault. The focus on the bottom line often resulted in decisions with significant adverse consequences to former employees.

    Advice to Management

    Work-life balance is important.

I worked at FLIR full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits and salaries at FLIR are well above "competitive", attracting and retaining the best talent. Their products are cutting-edge technology, scaled for the commercial and consumer markets, so there's always something new to ooh and ahh over! The Goleta campus includes an employee deli that is open to workers from other local companies.

    Cons

At times, oversight from corporate leadership in Oregon seemed too bureaucratic and limiting for the creative energies at the Commercial Vision Systems Division in Goleta (Santa Barbara), California.

    Advice to Management

Continue building your employer brand by maintaining your sharp focus on the benefits, salary and recognition needs of your outstanding workers. Remember to allow as much autonomy to your individual divisions (like the Commercial Vision Systems Division), in order to foster creativity and a sense of ownership among your employees.

    I worked at FLIR full-time

    Pros

FLIR is the most established and trusted company in the infrared camera marketplace. The products are fun to sell, and they give you the freedom to create your routes along key strategic accounts. They also have great perks and benefits.

    Cons

TSR territories covered multiple states, and travel is a must almost every week. It was a new position when it was created in 2014, and it was focused around a new company initiative of getting stocking displays in distribution stores. Stores mostly focused their in-store displays around lower priced commodities/consumables, and fighting for test and measurement space was difficult at times.

    Advice to Management

Keep advancing the higher-end camera lines. Continuing to lower the price of infrared cameras could cheapen the brand.
