-- Working for Flurry is a valuable experience in an industry that has tremendous growth potential

    Cons

-- Flurry has been trying to do quite a few things with not enough resources

    Advice to Management

-- Focus on products that are getting traction in the industry instead of doing too many things at same time

    Cons

    - Have not focused as much necessary in past and as a result has more tech debt from series of too many varied projects piled together

    Advice to Management

Focus on a few key projects and concentrate mgmt. effort and team resources amongst 1 or 2 that really matter.

I have been working at FLURRY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All other advertising mediums are in decline while mobile is growing...fast! Flurry sits at the center of it all because it monitors more data than anyone else. This gives Flurry a huge advantage when it comes to building a unique and sustainable media business.

    Cons

Mobile is a fast moving segment that still poses risks and requires companies to be nimble in order to win. This can lead to chaotic days but that's what working in a small company is all about.

    Advice to Management

    Execute, execute, execute...

    Pros

There are many high quality big data, machine learning and real time processing problems to solve.
The engineers at the company are really smart and there are several very good PM's.
The culture is truly merit based.

    Cons

The portfolio of products has been a bit too broad for the staffing and in some ways the company is a bit of a victim of its own success where there is quite a bit to do to be truly excellent.

    Advice to Management

Keep your focus as narrow as possible.

    Pros

Nice people, nice pay. Older and more relaxed culture than many similarly valued companies.

    Cons

Difficult to get anything done since priorities were unclear during this period.

    Advice to Management

Who knows, you work at yahoo now.

    Pros

    - Highly successful mobile analytics product, advertising products are earlier stage but growing
    - Strong engineering talent, challenging engineering problems to work on
    - Non-political, transparent culture, what you see is what you get, good work-life balance
    - Good visibility into what's going on in the world of mobile, helps professional growth

    Cons

    - Company tried to do too much last couple of years and stretched itself thin, is now a lot more focused
    - Relatively quiet for a startup, a little less after-work socializing, but that can be a plus for people with other considerations (e.g. family)

    Advice to Management

Less is more, keep resisting temptation to do too much and spread too thin

I have been working at FLURRY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were some good engineers but all have left now bcoz they know there is no future of the company. The managers in the company do nothing and are busy playing political games and they should be the one laid off if they have to save the company.

Some people have become managers bcoz they have been with the company for some time as they know they will not get a job anywhere with their knowledge.....MANAGERS ARE CRAP here......

    Cons

    1). REMOVE MANAGERS FROM COMPANY
2). MAKE IT A FLAT COMPANY
3). FIRE QA MANAGERS ...JUST SUCKING UP COMPANY MONEY...THEY DO NOTHING
4). SOME ARE JUST WAITING FOR THE COMPANY TO GO PUBLIC SO THEY CAN MAKE 5). MONEY OF IT ...BUT THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN
6). COMPANY NEEDS TO CHANGE ITS APPROACH JUST BY COPYING GOOGLE THEY WILL NOT BECOME ONE...
7). ALL THE GEMS OF THE COMPANY ARE GONE
8). IF YOU HAVE A THOUGHT WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE MANAGERS, THE MANAGER WILL MAKE SURE YOU ARE FIRED OR LAID OFF

    Advice to Management

    FIRE QA MANAGERS!!!!!

-Great communication from the exec team, definitely the most transparent company I have worked in
    -Cool new office
    -Growing very quickly

    Cons

-There hasnt been a large focus yet on career development, mostly due to how quickly the company has grown

    Advice to Management

-continue being transparent and letting the team know whats happening across the company

    I worked at FLURRY full-time

    Pros

Some great people still there. Large, interesting architecture/environment. LOTS of traffic.

    Cons

Super-ambitious goals while tying your hands from actually achieving any of them, specs change out from under you at a moment's notice, lots of politics keeping things from getting done. Did I mention politics? Many groups have goals at cross-purposes, and lots of animosity toward each other

    Advice to Management

Bring back some technical understanding to management, and get rid of the politics
