    Pros

    Great quality philosophy
    Good products
    Great people to work with

    Cons

    Lack of accountability from top-down
Processes were created to follow quality guidelines but not followed
Different original companies remained operating isolated. Little integration of processes and practices at global level

    Advice to Management

Good luck with the Technip merger. Make sure you do what you said you would do. Delegate some decision making to the people that report to you, they are great professionals.

I have been working at FMC Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly company with great new campus (built in late 2016). Going through a merger (early 2017) that should open opportunities.

Friendly hours (people rarely work past 5 or 5:30)

    Cons

Lots of inefficiencies and lack of leadership providing clear strategy. Failure to innovate because of "good ol' boy" type thinking

    Advice to Management

Be willing to innovate and provide clear strategy. Too much idle time due to employees not knowing what direction the division/company is going.

    Pros

When oil was good it was a very good place to work. Most everyone was very helpful and team oriented

    Cons

Management is top heavy. Also, they are allowed to disappear for hours playing ping pong and in the gym while the peons work hard. The same people were allowed to keep their jobs while many of the hard workers were laid off. Someone needs to look at this practice.

    Advice to Management

    Do not show favortism

    Pros

Good company to work for and a leader in the subsea industry.

    Cons

Hired individuals in senior management positions without any related oil/gas industry experience. This created difficulty in getting the job done efficiently

    Advice to Management

FMC has now been acquired by another company.

I worked at FMC Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable company, pays well. It could be great. But it allows its middle managers to misrepresent problems and the appropriate solutions. If you choose to go to work here, do not just go along to get along. Strive for excellence. Contend with those that are content with the status quo. You will not be popular but you will find satisfaction in knowing that that you did what you could to fix the mess you will inherit as a new employee.

    Cons

Quality is not has high of a priority as is claimed or as it should be. Very reactive quality culture. In other words reserving resources specifically to fix mistakes rather than using resources to prevent mistakes. Traceability is a nightmare in most functional areas. If a recall of product ever became necessary it could not be performed with certainty. This is unfortunate because the resources exist to eliminate this problem.

    Advice to Management

Revisit your Quality management system from the top down. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Get rid of the battling business units approach. It Greatly weakens the company. Communicate with your technical personnel. Some have really great ideas that would improve the company. But their numbers are being greatly reduced.

    Pros

Over all the company have an average benefits.

    Cons

The managers do not do their duties. Favoritism is always a priority. They do not look at the work that you've done. They do not look on the employees as an assets but they look at them as an liability.

    Advice to Management

Need to improve management quality as well as to show respect to employees.

I worked at FMC Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fast paced management of manufacturing for large subsea oil and gas products. Great co-workers. Good support from technical teams.

    Cons

Company is matrix organization. Role had all the responsibility of engineering and manufacturing product from proposal, to design, to delivery (good challenge), but no direct control over personnel/groups working on your project. Upper management would re-prioritize projects, delaying the work, after you had negotiated delivery dates with client. Very frustrating!
