    Pros

Great quality philosophy Good products Great people to work with

    Cons

Lack of accountability from top-down Processes were created to follow quality guidelines but not followed Different original companies remained operating isolated. Little integration of processes and practices at global level

    Advice to Management

Good luck with the Technip merger. Make sure you do what you said you would do. Delegate some decision making to the people that report to you, they are great professionals.

Former Employee - Tender Project Manager in Houston, TX

I worked at FMC Technologies full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Fast paced management of manufacturing for large subsea oil and gas products. Great co-workers. Good support from technical teams.

    Cons

Company is matrix organization. Role had all the responsibility of engineering and manufacturing product from proposal, to design, to delivery (good challenge), but no direct control over personnel/groups working on your project. Upper management would re-prioritize projects, delaying the work, after you had negotiated delivery dates with client. Very frustrating!

I have been working at FMC Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Laid back and old school culture

    Cons

Too many red tapes and processes. Lost focus in valuing good employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop adding layers of useless mid management for they don't contribute to any work. Stop letting go of experienced employees and asked inexperienced ones to do the same job. This jeopardizes the quality of FMC deliverables.

I worked at FMC Technologies for more than 8 years

    Pros

If you work hard you definitely can advance. Pay and benefits are competitive.

    Cons

It's in Oil & Gas which, as we know, is very cyclical. If you are not in the right position, as far as your manager, advancing can be more of a struggle.

    Advice to Management

While you have great managers, which I was fortunate to work with, who are moving your company forward; please be aware of those who are may not be management material. This is from a, "cup half-full" guy.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at FMC Technologies full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits package, lots of room for advancement if willing to travel, Challenging fast pace environment

    Cons

The oil Industry typically goes through a 5-7 year boom and bust cycle that means long term career prospects aren't great. Large layoffs accompany dipping oil prices that effect even the highest performing employees.

FMC Corporation does not have a location in Erie, PA nor is it in the oil industry. This may perhaps be an FMC Technologies review posted to the FMC Corp page in error.
