I worked at FMC full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Beautiful building, some departments offer amazing work/life balance with working from home, flex hours (depends on manager). Room for growth. Education assistance available. Some departments feel like family.

    Cons

Work/life balance is completely different based on which department you sit in. Seniority doesn't help when it comes to layoffs. CEO blatantly lies about strategy to employees during town halls - no wonder employees don't trust him.

    Advice to Management

People used to stay their entire careers, that is no longer the case. Look internally to see all the issues leading to your retention problem.

"Good work life balance, horrible management"

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Sales Manager
      Doesn't Recommend
      Neutral Outlook

I worked at FMC full-time for more than 20 years

      Pros

Flexible work life balance, decent vacation/benefits, nice people to work with (outside of management). Lower managers were supportive.

      Cons

Upper Management is horrible. Either you're part of the clique or not....bonus structure for sales was based on things not in your control.

      Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites, be a leader, and let those who are leaders do what they do best, lead. Take advice from underlings.

          I worked at FMC

          Pros

Work/life balance but this depends which department you are in. For some people, it is more "life" than "work". Compensation/benefits are ok but can be good depending who your boss is.

          Cons

Company has expanded too fast and business do not grow enough to cover the costs. No real development plan which cause no employee engagement and motivation. Quite a few are just doing minimum work to get by. You can be doing the same job for over 15 years. No bonus for non-management staff. Hierarchy culture: just do what your boss tells you to. Do not feedback or question why because they do not respond to that....
