    Pros

Amazing support and kindness from management and colleagues. Excellent job satisfaction with great outcomes for our patients. I cannot say enough good things about the management. They make you feel valued.

    Cons

I regret not finding Fox Rehabilitation earlier in my career. I retired last year and it was extremely difficult to leave this company.

    Salary and Benefits were insulting

Feb 18, 2023 - Occupational Therapist in Pittsburgh, PA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - PTO with ability to carryover 5 days and get paid out whatever wasn’t used. - schedule flexibility - no micromanagement - enjoy all Fox therapists and managers - more freedom with treatment interventions - perfect for those passionate about geriatric population.

    Cons

    - health insurance was VERY expensive, took nearly $700/month. Had to eventually work at Fox without health insurance just to make ends meet, it was so depressing. - 401k is 1% match, and that is not even guaranteed, one percent. - the salary I was offered as a new grad was $50,000/yr. I found out that my colleagues at Fox were making ~$15,000 more than me, we also had about the same level of experience. Number of years of education also does not impact pay. It’s sad how they lure new grads into the company with insultingly low salaries. - it was hard to stay with Fox as a new grad unfortunately. They promised growth opportunities and salary raises that never occurred. They do not want new grads to leave because they’ve been able to find young therapists to work for as low as $45,000/year. - never received a salary raise, though I was “eligible” - no reimbursement for driving/mileage

Questionable Ethics + No Loyalty to Clinicians

Jan 18, 2023 - Speech-Language Pathologist in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Autonomy over schedule (with some caveats) - Travel stipend - Access to MedBridge

    Cons

    - There is no loyalty between management and clinicians. If you are not meeting your quota due to a lack of clientele in your area, management provides you a 30-day notice out of the blue forcing you to go per-diem which is without benefits and is per-session. Marketing and management are not held accountable and clinicians are the ones negatively impacted by poor business decisions. - Lack of knowledge regarding appropriateness and need for Speech Therapy. Once had a supervisor make a speech therapy referral because the patient was having trouble breathing while walk.. -Clientele feels pressure by Fox to take on therapy. I've had multiple clients tell me the company has called to see if they are interested in more therapy. Clients are not dumb and realize this is all for profit. - Notice some questionable ethics amongst clinicians (e.g., overcharging, over certifying, fraudulent writing, plagiarism) assuming as a result of pressure to meet quota. - Company continues to keep dishonest clinicians and brush off claims of Medicare fraud and plagiarism despite multiple complaints and proof. Yet they are not loyal to those who are hard-working and honest. - When you are not meeting your quota, you are forced to go out of your designated area, spending more time and money commuting. - Extremely low PTO. 10 days part time and 12 days full time, including sick days!!

    Culture, Support, Leadership, Mission

Mar 14, 2023 - Physical Therapist in Sarasota, FL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

I've been practicing since 2011, and I just finished my first year with Fox. If Fox was in Florida when I first graduate, I would have loved it to be my first, and honestly only job. When your college professors tell you to take the job where you will learn the most, and help you grow professionally, Fox Rehabilitation embodies that. Your search stops here. Being part of 25 year celebration in practice, witnessing clinicians all over the country being excited about what they do, you simply can't beat the work culture and enthusiasm. The leadership is excellent, and I always feel valued, supported, and appreciated. If I need any help with patient care, documentation, equipment, I have several people I can text, call, email, or go on Microsoft Teams to answer my questions. Medbridge is included, which is a huge resource. Explore the Medbridge website if you haven't already. They will support you as you study and get your GCS, and I imagine OCS, NCS if that will support your region and the physicians they market to. They really take care of their employees. I live in Florida, and last minute I put up hurricane shutters in my house, instead of seeing patients, and I even cancelled last minute a job applicant that was supposed to shadow me. Was I scolded? Nope. Did I just not make money that week? Nope, I was paid my salary, no questions asked. And I got so many texts, calls, emails asking if my family and myself were OK. Seriously, your search stops now. Apply today. And if you are worried about the drive, ask during your interview if you will be in an ALF, or making house calls. My personal experience is 90% of my patients are in one ALF, and I have 3 people in the community (Sarasota, FL) that I see. My coworkers go to about 2-3 buildings in Sarasota, depending on referrals. I can tell you from experience, it is not that much driving. All the treatments are one on one. No more group therapy! And no limit on overtime, seriously you can work 7 days a week if the patients are available. There are financial incentives for clinical excellence, such as taking on a student, mentoring an employee, and taking on additional activities beyond patient care. But if you want to just see patients, you can do that too. Seriously, your search stops here. Apply today! So many opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Not reimbursed for gas or mileage.

    Zero Support

    Dec 31, 2022 - Staff Occupational Therapist
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Making your own schedule - but this is also a con because you will spend HOURS of unpaid time scheduling

    Cons

You are salaried but you have to meet a quota each week and sometimes they don't give you enough clients to meet that quota so they deduct time from your account that you have to pay back. If you ask for more clients they send you ALL OVER. I was spending $100/wk on gas alone. They make you use your personal cell phone and use all your data. They make you personally buy all your equipment for your clients. If there is an issue with the client you are basically on your own and get yelled at by difficult clients instead of referring them to a supervisor since IT'S ONLY YOU. This job is all the hardships of owning your own business without any of the rewards or benefits. Literally the WORST company I've ever worked for. Average burnout for this company is 3 months for the clinicians --DO NOT INVEST YOUR TIME OR ENERGY INTO THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY.

While we are sorry you had a bad experience, we disagree with several of your exertions and feel some of them are factually inaccurate. We understand that our practice is not a great fit for everyone. But, for those who are looking for a challenge, want to be part of something bigger and stive to become the best clinician they can be, FOX is THE practice to be part of. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Great place to work but you have to be on top of your schedule

Feb 11, 2023 - Occupational Therapist in Lexington, MA
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

GREAT opportunity to practice occupational therapy in the home setting! Lots of ways to stay connected to the organization Company is growing Pay is competitive, and you get paid for any overtime, can even get time and half during holidays for covering other therapists They hire quality people so you know you are working with a quality team

    Cons

You are responsible to maintain your quota, only way to do so is to overbook yourself and then 'bank' that time so that eventually if someone cancels at the last minute (which happens on average 1/week!) you can just relax about it

    Great Company

Sep 24, 2022 - Physcal Therapist in Youngstown, OH
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

In the 22 years that I have worked as a PT, FOX company culture and staff support far exceed any company that I have worked for. Fox will invest in you and want you to exceed. An assigned mentor, a Regional Director, and a Quality Assurance Liaison were consistently available to me throughout my initial months of employment. After orientation, those individuals remain readily available. In addition, FOX provides access to colleagues in other areas/states, educational programs/CEU's, and clinical/efficiency tips on a regular basis. PTO is provided but due to the flexibility in scheduling, I can schedule my week so that PTO is not needed to be used (for example a couple hours for a doctor appointment or an event at my child's school.) Clinically, I enjoy the consistency of care. I am able to evaluate my patient and provide all treatments and follow through with the POC. No supervision of PTA's.

    Cons

Productivity. Fox does have productivity standards or contract quota expectations; but I have never worked for a company that did not. Meeting this productivity can be a challenge when patients cancel visits, visits are lost by hospitalizations, or distance for house calls. But it is doable by using FOX taught methods of front loading your weeks, scheduling patients the week in advance (which is amazing), use of your "bank", and communicating with co-workers (to assist them or have them assist you as needed based on your caseload."
