I have been working at FPL FiberNet LLC. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people and treating clients as kings so you feel you serve peoples well. The owner changed for the better. We are not more part of FPL (Nextera Energy)

    Cons

Salaries are not aligned with skills but more with seniority so you can find useless peoples with higher salaries than key employees.

    Advice to Management

Align salaries with employee skills or they will leave specially now that you dont offer anymore the ilussion of being part of FPL.

I have been working at FPL FiberNet LLC. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You have an opportunity to build your resume if you understand Telecom and use your time wisely. A smaller company allows visibility into other departments. Benefits are good and there are perks being part of the parent company.

    Cons

There is little or no communication due to the poor culture and workload. Lack of respect, pay and growth opportunities. Many employees come from various backgrounds and there is no pathway or focus to gain Telecom knowledge. Employees burn-out due to inefficiencies, unrealistic promises and poor management.

    Advice to Management

Focus on acknowledging people that make things happen and support them with pay and flexibility. Plan, trust, delegate and make time to communicate.

    Pros

Great benefits and good people that are willing to help and share knowledge. Like any small company, most people get exposure to different areas of the company.

    Cons

Due to the size of the company, opportunities to grow are very limited and salaries are on the low end of the scale.

    Advice to Management

Broaden your focus on multiple areas of the company, this company has great untapped potential that will make the company even more succesful.

    Pros

Somewhat stable environment if you know the right people

    Cons

Very stagnate environment for technical people who want to learn.
This telecom company is run with the mentality of the utility (power) company.
True telecom experience is not needed or respected.
Work-life balance is talked about, but is not truly supported

    Advice to Management

Technical people in technical roles need to have constant training and an environment for growth

    Pros

This is a great company with great benefits. The opportunity to learn about different aspects of the company is a plus. These are some of the best employees, very supportive and great to work with.

    Cons

Working long hours and poor work-life balance.

I have been working at FPL FiberNet LLC. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fibernet is a subsidiary of Next Era Energy, which is one of the most respected utilities in the world. The company still has a pension plan, which is rare to say the least.

    Cons

Politics are always an issue you have to deal with -- regardless of your position or department. There are only about 250 employees and everyone knows everyone's business. The minute something happens everyone knows it. It's as if they thrive on office intrigue.
