Hard work but very rewarding
Nov 2, 2020 - Restaurant General Manager in Columbia, SCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I was proud to be a part of FS Food Group. I worked in almost every concept - and the standard was always the same - very high with expectation to meet those standards. I was paid well. I was appreciated. And I loved every one that was a part of FS Food Group
Cons
Restaurant hours are tough - but if it weren't for that, I would still be there :)
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Great pay for part time students
Cons
Nothing for me really I had a great time.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
I enjoyed working for Frank Scibelli. (My wife and I had to move out of state for family reasons or I would still be working for Frank). Frank is a straight shooter - definitely lets you know what he is thinking - but he is always on top of things. He knows his people and is looking for creativity and ownership mentality from his Chefs. I always felt like he was looking out for me. In return, I was motivated to do the best job I could at all times. I would would say that FS Food Group was one of the best restaurant groups I have worked with in my 25 year career as a Chef.
Cons
Solid benefits but I would have liked them to add a 401k.

Pros
A lot of the people working for Frank are very nice and have good intentions, but they don't know any way besides Franks mentality on how to manage a restaurant.
Cons
If you are an experienced manager, don't waist your time and skills working for Frank. All the rumors you hear around Charlotte about Frank's reputation are true. Frank will belittle you in front of your staff and peers. During the interview process he talks a big game about work life balance and compensation, but they pull the bait and switch. Most of his senior managers and support staff have been promoted from within and have never worked for any other restaurant company and just wing it. So don't expect any mentorship. All the kitchens are in extreme disrepair and very dirty with no health standards being followed. I will never eat in an FS Food Group restaurant ever.

Typical Pay, but good food and culture
Mar 13, 2020 - Server/Waiter in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The place is always packed, so if you know what you're doing you'll make good money. The clientele is normally great as well. I only worked part time due to other employment but I am fairly certain there are health insurance options, which is a rare commodity for restaurant staff.
Cons
Typical restaurant woes. $2.35 an hour plus tips. occasional politics, bad eggs, etc. However, the corporate office is full of friendly, engaging people and management was great at the time I left.

An amazing company with a lot of growth opportunity
Mar 15, 2015 - Manager in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The management listens to the employees and mentors them. I feel like this is a growing company where I can build my career and grow with them.
Cons
If you are not willing to work as a team player, it will be a hard road. If you are not motivated and positive you won't fit in.
