I worked at FTI Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the pay is pretty good but it is all given to the people at the top.

    Cons

I am a former HR employee and I saw it all behind the scenes. This company is so unethical in the way they do things. If you or a loved one is sick and need time off the company culture will not support you. If a loved one dies you are expected to return to work after 3 days. So many people are leaving the company because of the poor company culture. DO NOT BE FOOLED!

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the corporate people in HR Department in Annapolis.

    Pros

Can be a good place to learn some basics of corporate finance if they are busy

    Cons

Work is very cyclical and you can easy get caught on the wrong side of the market which means you are doing nothing. A lot of the work does not translate to other roles (buy side, banking, etc) very well.

    Advice to Management

Management is s hodge podge of acquired firms and can vary greatly

I worked at FTI Consulting as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good location, friendly colleagues, comfortable review rooms. They are a relatively friendly place to work and the team leaders are helpful.

    Cons

Low salaries, treated as children regarding cell phone usage, talking to colleagues in the review room (even when discussing the work), favoritism, game playing.

    Advice to Management

Treat adults as adults. Don't do only what is best for you. Have the employee in mind to some extent.

    Pros

If there were any, I couldn't find them. Unless a pro is being constantly screamed, simple mistakes made into the sinking of the Titanic and if the coven knew who was doing what, it would have run smoothing. Clowns leading the circus.

    Cons

Just because you think you is the big boss, once is a while, shut your mouth and listen to those around and especially below you. A mere mortal secretary cannot control FedEx. Accusing underlings of things not their fault at the top of your lungs where the other people on the floor come to see what is going on, that's not leadership, that's harassment.

    Advice to Management

    1. Teach your managers to be managers. 2. Teach your managers how to speak to those under them. 3. Teach your managers to speak to those above them because the behind kissing is evident a mile away. 4. Teach your manager just because they are higher up doesn't mean they are right. 5. Teach your manners that support staff and associates have feelings; that's why crap like this is written.
