    Pros

Compensation is very good. Mostly bright people.

    Cons

Experiences, policies, vary greatly between and within business segments. Managers with tenure are untouchable even when incompetent. Culture severely lacking.

    Advice to Management

FTI understandably wants top talent but needs to listen to them. More HR with visibility. Review/goal process Is dreaded.

I worked at FTI Consulting part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

FTI allowed me to understand the nuances of consulting and as well gave me the opportunity to network and reach out to other people and companies.

    Cons

Not a lot of friendly people. Often chastised and made to work way harder than the other interns at the company

    Advice to Management

Very nice company, just needs to have a more relaxed and communicative environment with less hostile people and less chastising.

    Cons

if you do not live in downtown Miami its is very time consuming traveling to and from work because of traffic.

I have been working at FTI Consulting (More than a year)

    Pros

FTI is a great place to grow your career. Lots of great people with knowledge and expertise that they are willing to share.

    Cons

Culture is seriously lacking. Work can come in ebbs and flows and in the flows you work so much that you get burnt out but in the ebbs you will be very bored. You are also evaluated on utilization which can be tough when it is not always in your control.

    Pros

I've met some great people. I can also meet great people at other jobs, I'm sure.

    Cons

I read reviews that FTI was an "Old Boys Club" before joining, but was hopeful that it had changed since the review was written. It really hasn't, unfortunately. The politics are similar to what you'd find in a big firm, but worse because it is a smaller pool.

I also know for a fact that some HR concerns were completely ignored or swept under the rug.

I worked at FTI Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great group of people in the Boston office, could not have asked for a better group with which to start a career.

    Cons

Unsteady work flow - necessitates constantly scrounging for work and establishing multiple relationships with those who are selling consulting work in order to meet chargeability targets.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a few more senior people who are really "rain makers", and are capable of generating a book of business to keep the more junior staff consistently busy.
