I have been working at FVS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The products are technologically advanced as compared to the competition and are of high quality. They have several meetings during the week and are available to help. The owner has quarterly academy type awards events to motivate and incentivize. They do not discriminate at all when hiring.

    Cons

I wish they were closer to where I live on the far east side.

I have been working at FVS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great commission, gives opportunity to those who are willing to try. Great spirirted managment and a truly quality company that will stand behind you. It feels good to stand by a quality product made in the USA. I stand to make sure all of MY customers will get what they paid for with service and warrenty to make the product last them a lifetime.

    Cons

They dont pay for training but they pay you to practice!!! And dont lie because they will know unless your super experienced. Practice will only benefit you.
They dont get you as many appointments as you need to make salary but if they did you would make at least triple your salary. I do about 7 appts/week and make salary.
You do need a little money to get started because you wont make more then $200 your first week but then its up to you.
Also you will put a lot of miles on your ride but it is also a great tax write off

    Advice to Management

Be more upfront to hire people that want to do this kind of work, then we will get less bad reviews by jagoffs that are mad cause they just wanted a paycheck and didn't want to put in the work. i didnt know what i was getting into until my second day of training. First time in marketing and demonstration but i love it!

I worked at FVS as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

set your own demo times- if they have demos
commission only- if they pay you

    Cons

When you apply you are made to believe that you will be paid for your training, your not. They also tell you during training that you will get $3100 as long as you complete 64 demos in a month, but they make it impossible to hit that number but will tell you not to worry about it. You kare suppose to get either $75 or $100 gas card each week depending on the amount of demos you ran but you wont ever see those either. During your training weekend they will have contest that promise the top performer prize, gas cards and cash bonuses which you never see either. You are told during training that their apts are all in bound which is also a lie. You also will not get credit when you go to a demo and the people will not allow you to do the demo or didnt even know that they had to see a demo for their Bingo prizes. You are suppose to get paid weekly and you end up getting paid bi-weekly at best. If someone stops showing up and you ask about it your always told that they didnt quit but will be coming back and they dont. Unless you dont need the money do not take this job

    Advice to Management

Shut down the Dubuque office, the boss lies, cheats and misleads all of his employees and has been through at least 15 of them.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Good commission when sales are made
Friendly Environment between management and employees
    Decent enough work/life balance program
    Okay training program

    Cons

Although training provides you with product knowledge it is unpaid. It's stated as paid training in the beginning but you're not actually paid for the time that you are in the office. From the beginning management misleads reps to believe that the people that we are going to see are interested in the product but they are contacted via other methods to get reps into the home. There is no base salary. $3100/month if you run 64 appointments in that month...they guarantee that but you will never hit that mark! You must have a decent amount of money to get started, and there is a chance that you will make nothing. Also a 1099 "employee" which could either be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

    Advice to Management

Be truthful with applicants and trainees from the beginning so that they are aware what they are getting into. You may not hire as many people but you will get people who desire to be in that type of position rather than people figuring it out later and then leaving. Price points on products are way off and need to be dropped as well to make the company more successful.
