I have been working at FactSet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Transport facility. Ask any current or ex employee of Factset, they all would agree with one thing that is transport, only thing which is prompt and steady.

    Cons

Less Pay, no proper work distribution, no proper management, no one has any idea of HR policies, they tend to change according to candidate. Promotions are based on favoritism and not on eligibility and skill set. processes which are given fancy names but in the end they are totally data entry, one would never find them in other companies.

    Advice to Management

How can a person board his cab at 2:30 pm when his shift starts at 5:30 pm? How can a person without completing minimum required tenure in factset of 18 months gets promoted whereas people who are working for more than 5 years still remain in same position with same salary. What is 0.01% increment? Does company has any idea of work and life balance? One day bringing family members to work place doesnt balance work and personal life. Why even after so many people complain about bad food which is charged unnecessarily is still being served. Performance evaluation is just for name sake, to be entirely honest its totally based on management's decision. Ranking has nothing to do with performance. Team leads and Assistant manages and operational managers and even vice presidents of this company has no idea about what is their process and how it works, they just tend to deal with it as sales and marketing. 90% of employees are recruited from rural areas for whom getting a job is more than enough and dont bother about pay, promotions. There are people who worked for more than 7 years are still in same position and working with same salary.

I worked at FactSet full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free breakfast
    Good transport facility
You can stay in your comfort zone
Not definitely a tough job but sometimes tedious

    Cons

Salary is extremely low. They pay you the salary which is given for watchmen and security guards. You'll lose your respect among your friends if you reveal your take home. In some cases interns from big 4 companies earn more than factset employees.
The job experience can't be used anywhere as it is too basic and purely a desk data entry kind of job with a flattering title "Research analyst"

Too much of internal politics and sycophancy. (If you want growth or survival)

    Advice to Management

Learn something from BIG4s and other large finance companies.
Treat employees like humans and not as robots.
Give them better pay and hikes.
    Increase take home.

    Pros

regular paycheck, two to four monitors per individual

    Cons

if factset wants, it transfers me the department without reason and without employee's consent. managers are very disappointing, discrimation, favoritism, incompetencies, lack of product development, discourages current employees, gives grudges, low salary, lack of individual's privacy.

    Advice to Management

do not tranafer employee without his or her consent because that discourages a room for the growth. enough said.
