I worked at Faegre Baker Daniels full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good work environment, wants to do the right things but fails due to poor second tier leadership and lots of bureaucracy.

    Cons

Poor leadership at top and second tier levels, unfair expectations for some roles.

    Advice to Management

Make sure leaders are ready to be leaders. Find leaders who have high EQ and want things to work. Display same expectations for all employees in the same role.

    Pros

Faegre employs the best of the best. You will work with very smart, talented people.

    Cons

The industry, more than Faegre demands long hours. There is very little flexibility with the hours you are expected to be available.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to do more with less and pay staff what they are worth. This will help reduce turnover.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Faegre Baker Daniels full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The projects are diverse and the firm moved to a new data center, which is a good step forward.

    Cons

The leadership at the firm is toxic and may deny people's ability to work from home, or take PTO. Typical work week is 70-80 in the technology area. The technology area also has very high turn over.

    Advice to Management

Set realistic goals with the executive management board to ensure that projects are not rushed and crammed in at the last minute.

Inequality - rules and policies apply to the masses but not to all.
Excessive waste of resources - both monetary and human.
Frequent surveys on employee morale but no action is taken to improve.
They hire good people and then micromanage them.
    No work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Take action on issues raised during surveys and stick to it until there is real improvement. Trust your employees.
