    I worked at Fairchild full-time

    Pros

Experienced people to learn from. People are generally friendly and will help you do what you need to get work done.

    Cons

Managers have a tendacy to micromanage. Corporate office has alot of "Yes" men who do not want to challenge or question any decision.

    Advice to Management

Allow people to work more freely. Give them a direction, but allow the opportunity to get to the destination by their own means.

    Pros

Fairchild Semiconductor has good pay and good benefits including HSA matching and 401K matching , You start with 3 weeks vacation, and it increases to 4 weeks after 10 weeks.

    Cons

Fairchild Semiconductor is constantly laying people off and moving jobs overseas. It has been recently purchased by On Semi so the future isn't very clear. Many projects are stated then killed before they can be completed. The senior management doesn't seem to have a long term plan.

    Pros

Good salary and benefits, good work life balance, good location, the atmosphere is relaxed, good medical benefits, generous sick time and vacation days

    Cons

Two many levels of management and consequently it is difficult to perform your specific duties. Not enough interactions from the Directors and VP's

    Advice to Management

Allow people to do their jobs, need to hire more individual contributors and less managers. Have faith in your existing managers and don't hire a director to co-manage projects
