      Great district with high standards

      Pros

Provides an intense amount of professional development for all staff members, but especially teachers. They definitely are leaders and innovators in the field of education. Salaries are very competitive.

      Cons

Keeping up with the amount of training on top of executing highly effective instruction and addressing the amount of academic need resulting from quarantine and virtual education is very overwhelming. Sometimes the district forgets that we can't complete professional development during contract hours (because we are with students or in meetings). On occasion, they will compensate extra for the night classes we are required to do, but much of the virtual training we are using our off hours to complete.

It helps you learn to clean and appreciate the work

      Pros

Good benefits, helps you learn to clean properly. Coworkers can help you if your new and give tips to clean faster.

      Cons

Constantly cleaning the same areas everyday, and kids/teens are the worst when they leave a-lot of mess in bathrooms. Teachers are messing as kids as well.. Its a fast pace job, and can give you lots of shoulder/back pain from sweeping/moping.

School system is large and you can meet and interact with such a wide range of people doing different things. Location is nice as well.

      Cons

Easy to get lost in the sea of employees, not very personal.

      Good schools, Bad Policies

      Pros

Most schools I have been a part of have quality teachers and admin

      Cons

The school system policies leave teachers hanging in the wind. No recourse for student apathy and lack of engagement. Policies become more and more lax every year and students take advantage of the policies... (50% for turning in no work allows kids to pass by turning in 2 assignments out of 10 for instance... kids can be 65 minutes late to a 90 minute class and that is a "tardy" ... but there's no real recourse for excessive tardies regardless)
