    Pros

Great benefits, great people to work with.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Invest in planning software that will advise employees the things they need to do/learn to advance to a higher position.
Invest in software that will enable managers to track what trainings employees have had, congratulate them on their efforts, and then advise them to document actual application of training to their evaluation folder.
Make the teacher evaluation process meaningful by including a monetary benefit for exemplary employees.
Hire instructional designers to create trainings, not administrators.
Find out how to add captions to tutorials and make them 508 compliant.

    Pros

Fairfax County Public Schools is world class education system. The county continues to produce the best students in the state.

    Cons

Economic/budget priorities have plagued the system. Teacher pay has continued to stagnant. Pressure on teachers to test students constantly is leading some to leave the profession.

    Advice to Management

Value the most important resource, educators. Pay them a decent wage and support their professional development.

I have been working at Fairfax County Public Schools full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

great job as far as getting to teach subjects I love

    Cons

As time goes on, teachers are more responsible for raising children, teaching them to be respectful, getting them to comply with rules, etc. Also, teachers are given so much unrelated work to do (including evaluation paperwork) that it's hard to find time to plan lessons, evaluate students' work.

    Advice to Management

stop giving us more work/tasks that are unrelated to teaching, lesson planning, etc.

    Pros

Clean schools. Friendly staff members. The Pay is good (but keep reading)

    Cons

You think you're doing well because the pay is decent... but then so many taxes are taken out! Also, the philosophy is weird. Students are allowed retakes on any test. You have to take late work etc.
