I have been working at Fairfield Manufacturing full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice size company, many different manufacturing processes completed here. Heat treat, machining, gear cutting, finish work, assembly

    Cons

Going through rough sales period, also upper management transitions and lack of communication make it difficult to know the future of this company

    Advice to Management

New upper management treats middle managers as poison fruit without ever getting to know their capabilities.

    Pros

The learning possibilities under this roof are impressive. Very few companies do as many different manufacturing processes under one roof. Most of the people that work here have been here for a very long time and are extremely knowledgeable about this subject matter, and they are more than willing to help people learn and pass on information to the next generation.

    Cons

First off, pay is on the low end of the scale. Also, they do not seem willing to replace people when they leave. Instead their work load gets distributed around, and you get spread thin. When you are spread thin for a long enough period pf time things start to fall through the cracks. There needs to be a culture change, where there is less of the US vs. THEM mentality, and more of lets get it done!
