I have been working at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are nice. All the banquet captains are there and willing to teach and explain anything and everything you want to know. The biggest attribute about this company is they allow you to grow and not crush you if you don’t get something right away. The standards are high but the consistent support makes it all worth while.

    Cons

I would like to work more during the summer months. It gets really slow and u have to save money for this slow season.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing❤️

    Cons

    High manager turn over

    Quality control lacking

    Advice to Management

    Better training for Supervisors
Hire more management instead of making current hires do 3 jobs worth of work

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The property if phenomenal. The staff is phenomenal. The Company as a whole is phenomenal (and as an employee you get crazy great discounts at other properties). Also, the benefits are stellar, from health coverage to paid time off (of which you start out with more than most U.S. companies offer after 10 years of employment). By far one of the best working experiences of my life!

    Cons

The commute to downtown Pittsburgh from the east, through the squirrel hill tunnels. Other than that, none at all.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

    Great opportunities for career development

    Cons

    Very low work life balance

    Advice to Management

Communication of employee performance on a regular basis would increase productivity of many employees. Better communication across all channels needs to be improved.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fairmont discounts worldwide. 3% match for 401k

    Cons

You're a number. When you work here, you're not a person. Management doesn't care about anything but revenue. You'll be very underpaid, and if you try to start a conversation about that, you'll be fired (unlawfully). HR is cutthroat and uncaring.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to your employees. They're people. They have families. They matter, too. Stop ignoring them and mistreating them.

I have been working at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The luxury, connections, discounts, and access to quick advancement into management positions. There are also many great opportunities on the company website that offer academic aid and other cool benefits.

    Cons

Not many, my job is fantastic. I look forward to work everyday and keep smiling. However, some guests can be sour grapes and that is no fun. We also have members and many you will build a great connection with, others not so much.
