I have been working at Fairmont Schools full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fairmont is such a family atmosphere where your coworkers become part of your family. I have enjoyed working here for more than 20 years.

    Cons

Fairmont asks that you give so much of your time to the students and families. It is part of the school's expectation.

I worked at Fairmont Schools part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, Better pay, Fee discount on tuition for employees.

    Cons

Lack of management, co-workers, Lack of HR, Virtually no policy. Teachers spend lot of time gossiping, planning and plotting and discussing their personal lives. You have to really be careful in expressing yourself or have any conversation as everything and anything could be offensive to others. Management are incompetent to handle situations as they lack education or experience. HR is non-existent and has no policies. Primary reason most of the teachers working here are due to their kids getting heavy discount, otherwise they have no interest in working there or teaching your kids.

    Advice to Management

Fire yourself and bring in somebody who can hire good management, especially Managers, Directors, HR. Hire teachers who have passion in teaching and not just collect paycheck and get discounts for their own kids. Create HR policies.

I worked at Fairmont Schools full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salaries are above average for the area and occupation

    Cons

Poor management, lack of education in school leadership

    Advice to Management

Think less of profit and numbers of students and more about the individual self actualization of each student.

    Pros

Fairmont has a family-friendly work environment. Management is accommodating to the personal needs of employees.

    Cons

There's not a lot of room to grow within the organization. It has a fairly flat management structure - which has its own pros and cons.

I have been working at Fairmont Schools full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people with a clear mission and vision of educating young people. The students always come first, so you can always feel good about what you're doing on a daily basis. Co-workers are good, positive, smart, hard-working people. Management legitimately cares about their employees and they help create an inclusive, creative environment.

    Cons

I'm confused by the negative reviews that are on this page, because there are really no major cons to working at Fairmont that are at all worth mentioning.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at Fairmont Schools full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pros are the coworkers below management level. Majority of coworkers are nice and have a can do attitude and are friendly.

    Cons

Management -or- I mean the lack of management. I wouldn't recommend working at this company do to the management. This company is not run well.

    Advice to Management

Examine all management positions. Determine what each management position brings to the table and remove floaters that are just filling their day with meetings and mindless work.

    Pros

Few good folks but they left so really, there are none.

    Cons

This place was like being stuck in some twilight zone. The management is absolutely horrendous and unbelievably corrupted. It was extremely shocking to see such unethical business practices at a school of all places. Their moral compass is wayyyyyy off. I would never recommend sending any children to this school knowing what I know. People should seriously do some research before working here or sending kids here. At the end of the day, schools should not have any association with words like corruption, unethical, etc. This is your HUGE hint, DO NOT WORK HERE. Plus you will for sure receive a better salary than what Fairmont offers.

    Advice to Management

This school needs to be audited in every way. O, wait. That would mean management would be out of jobs. No wonder there are no changes and everything stayed exactly the same. Doesn't that say something?
