I worked at Fairview Health Services part-time

    Pros

Cafeteria had a good selection, but no employee discount.

    Cons

Parking is expensive and inconvenient, lacking of benefits compared to the union employees on other campus.

    Pros

I enjoy the people I work with, salary is decent but not great, a lot of restructuring tends to go on and the relationship with U of M and and UMP gets to be confusing

    Cons

The benefits aren't really that great in my opinion, the retirement plan is okay, but there is a pool of days to allot to both sick time and holidays/vacations, so if you get sick more often it really stings. Salaries could be more competitive.

I have been working at Fairview Health Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great medicine for patients. Great doctors. Great medicine support staff. A great medical institution.

    Cons

Lying and behaving unethically is not unusual in the ranks outside medicine. Yet the images are spinned to look good -- in fact, that's what's most important -- keeping up an image and look out if you step on someone's ego. Look where there is big turnover. The U campus and system can also be a slight bureaucratic tangle.

    Advice to Management

Some directors behave unethically and misuse their power to say and do false things. It's like presidential politics at the worst -- a blood sport. The Fairview values are not applied by someone people except if they falsely accuse someone of not following them in retaliation for a bruised ego or turf.
