I have been working at Fairview Health Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The facilities that I work at are well maintained. Our equipment is quality and new. I do feel good about the work I do there.

    Cons

Over the last ten years, I feel like I get less help and have to work harder than I ever have before. I’m all for stepping up but the burnout rate is starting to creep up.

    Advice to Management

Try to show value to employees before they are at their wits end. Most people I work with love fairview but are getting burnt out. I know it’s a big company so it’s hard to dial back from data and black and white work rules. Remember, many of us are giving up our nights and weekends with our families to provide quality care.

I have been working at Fairview Health Services full-time

    Pros

Working for a Health Services organization can be rewarding.

    Cons

People are not very open and inviting, too closed off with a cube atmosphere. Their technology is way behind and they don't have software to support the work. Things move very slow and management doesn't have time for hands on training.

    Advice to Management

    More hands on

I have been working at Fairview Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co workers, decent benefits and pay, flexible schedule. Love the extra perks like discounts on tickets, etc.

    Cons

They will set a position as casual, even if you will work full-time hours, as a means to avoid providing benefits (doubt this is the same in every department). Don't have the tools to do the job. Additional expectations and responsibilities expected above already full work load.

    Advice to Management

Value employees over the bottom line and you will likely see less turn over. Better communication between management and employees also would go a long way.
